Take the advice of the wait staff and indulge in the steak! Our group split two different types of meat. Our experience was stupendous! The steak was OUTSTANDING! The service was spot on!

Some local friends took me to this new place and wow... From the moment we sat down we were greeted with a smile and treated to some fantastic food. Great place to enjoy some incredible wine and food in company. Words are not enough to describe the food and the staff will make you feel like you're at a friends house for dinner. Definitely recommend

Amazing! We made a reservation based on the reviews. Honestly when we saw the location so close to the Duomo, we were worried it might be touristy, but it was the opposite - lots of locals and very friendly attentive staff, delicious food, and very reasonable prices. It recently opened - the owners are two young entrepreneurs that converted a gelato place into a restaurant and you can tell they have a vision for the place. Great vibe and wonderful experience overall for our final night in Italy.

We past this restaurant several times to and from our hotel during our 4 day in Florence and they had a very charming witty young man on the door touting for business. On our last evening we decided to give it a try and I am afraid the experience did not live up to the doorman's demeanour. We had stayed in Florence 10 years ago and found the restaurants to a good standard but we try not to eat at the same place twice, we like variety.
The Restaurante La Cupola's decor is fairly modern and pleasant and initially the service and attention was good. We had eaten steak the night before and so ordered a main course of their more expensive risotto dishes plus side dishes of vegetables and started with a platter of the cold meats, red wine and sparkling water, which was to the standard we expected. We were in no hurry and was not clock watching but after we had chatted and consumed all our wine we noticed that the diners at the tables had changed and they were getting served their main courses. I informed one of the waiters we were still waiting and 15 minutes later we were still waiting and not even asked if we wanted some more wine or water or taken away the empty wooden platter board.
So I reluctantly asked for the bill to pay for what we had already consumed. About 10 minutes later instead of the bringing the bill they appeared with the Risotto but no side dishes. The Risotto did not look warm at all, I declined the meal and said it had taken too long and it was too late. When they did bring the bill they tried to charge us for something that we never had, which was rectified, we paid and left. The waiter apologised but the manager did not.
Reflecting on our experience and observations we feel we had been forgotten about because we did not order an obscene sized steak like some of the other diners who arrived after us. But what we ordered was on the menu and we had not received any less preferential service when we ordered in other restaurants in Florence.
Shame it could have good experience but it was not.

Team La Cupola is there to cook wonderful honest Italian meals and to serve their guests. They have an enormous drive to make you feel at home. They served us fresh, warm bread. Were creative to create a baby chair for our daughter and treated us with the best bruchettas you can think of. We ordered a delicious pasta pomodori for our daughter (this was not on the menu), a steak with arugula salad (good) and spaghetti carbonara (10/10). Nice menu, with a few surprises. Plenty of choice and fair prices. Visit if you want to avoid tourist traps and enjoy a great meal. La Cupola is a pleasant bubble in a vibrant city. The type of place that you hope for when visiting a large city. The terrace outside is small, in a quiet street (no cars). The indoor space is contemporary, yet cosy. They seem to love the wines they serve.
We truly enjoyed the hospitality. They did everything they could to make us happy guests. Thanks!

Absolutely fantastic!! I did some homework online & chose Ristorante La Cupola based on reviews & a great offer via The Fork. My family & I had an amazing meal-- every course, every dish was flawless. We started with a plate of pecorino cheeses with their house-made jam & bruschettas (salsicca crostini was great), then I had a tortelli with burro e salvia, my husband had a pollo con limone & our son had the tartufo risotto... it was to die for, we all couldn't stop picking off his plate (they have a "truffle experience" menu sure to thrill all truffle lovers, like our son!). The wine was excellent as was our tiramisu dessert. The service was prompt, warm & casual. This restaurant is in my top 3 all time favorites in Florence & we will certainly be back again!!

We have been to La Cupola twice during our stay in Firenze, the food is very nice and the quality is great. Our super friendly attendant Matteo was always helpful and recommending great dishes, if you like tomato soup I would highly recommend to try the Tuscan one. Pasta and the truffle experience are a great choices. See you again soon

Superb location and lots of good reviews, we thought we would have a go and overall where left deflated.
Waiters are excellently trained, but trained more as salesmen than waiters, very smooth, a lot of "don't worry about the menu, I will choose for you".
We had pasta which was good but far from the best we had in Florence and I went for the meat speciality. It was very large however it was also strangely tasteless, but eye waterlingly expensive. Which is fine if it had been the best steak I had ever had, but it was not even the best steak I had in 6 days in Florence.
Waiter forgot our side dish.
The overall bill comfortably doubled what I would have expected to pay, disguised but the waiter choosing the wine as well as the steak being sold by weight (which added up, a LOT).
Overall, I can't see where all the rave reviews come form. It was fine. Overpriced but fine.
TLDR: Check how much you are ordering is actually going to cost. Lesson learned.

We could not have asked for a more perfect, romantic evening. We had a beautiful table overlooking the cathedral which, with the music, lighting and friendly staff, made the perfect setting for the perfect meal.
Lav, our waiter was so attentive and friendly, and made us feel very, very welcome. We were very grateful to him for the beautiful bottle of wine he recommended for us.
Our food was absolutely delicious, with a really good variety on the menu, and so reasonably priced. 3 courses and a bottle of wine for two people totalled less than €100.
Absolutely perfect for a romantic dinner in such a romantic city. I will be highly recommending to all friends and family visiting Florence!

I always read Trip Advisor reviews, but rarely write one. I am making an exception for this place. I don’t know why they get 5 stars. We were greeted warmly to start; high hopes. We were lectured about our choice of wine. Despite the fact we live in Florence part of the year, we were admonished by the waiter, because he wanted us to pick a more expensive bottle. We ordered a Greek salad to start, it was good, but we had to ask for bread and utensils. The pappardelle with Chingale was excellent, but cold. We tried to get the attention of a waiter, but alas, to no avail. After all, we had; a bread waiter, a wine waiter, an order waiter, and a delivery waiter, and they all were running around not paying attention, who to ask to warm the pasta? And again, no utensils. The grilled chicken was excellent, but our dinner experience was already not good. To top it off, the bill states in BIG BOLD LETTERS, tip not included, and again, we were lectured to tip. So, for everyone else, go and enjoy. We did not.

We had the T bone steak here, was very tasty however it seemed over priced compared to other places just down the road. Felt a little like we were paying for the view of the cathedral (beautiful view nonetheless). The waiter brought out the steak they were going to cook for us, which he had said when ordering could be between 1.2 to 1.7kg, I asked for a smaller one if possible - yet we were given one at 1.7kg.
The dessert we wanted was not available, so we had one course and a bottle of wine, and with 30% discount off food still paid around €135 so not a cheap meal. Good food, not bad service but in our opinion overpriced.

We visited the restaurant after looking up the top 10 restaurants in Florence on trip advisor and we were not disappointed.
The restaurant is central in the middle of Piazza del Duomo offering an amazing view of Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral.
We were instantly greeted at the door by one of the waiters Hicham who was extremely friendly; he sat us down and immediately started serving us small bites of bread and oil until we decided what to eat.
We ordered a variety of things from appetizers to pasta and dessert, and the food was delicious; portions are big and plates are very well presented.
We also met Hani who's the restaurant manager; he visited our table and we had a long friendly chat with him; he was even kind enough to offer us a bottle of Prosseco bottle on the house.
The staff kept checking on us every now and then, helping us and just spreading good vibes regularly.
We also had the chance to meet the head chef who's an extremely nice guy with a happy attitude.
The overall experience was fantastic, and we are happy to have made new friends in an unexpected way.
Hani, Hicham and the head chef run the place in a very professional way, all the while offering a friendly homey vibe.
The food is perfect and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Florentine experience.

We had a lovely Bistecca Fiorentina, which we shared between two. The service was very friendly and efficient as well. It was not overly expensive either, considering the location in front of the Duomo. We spent about 65€ per person without wine, with the bulk of the price being the Bistecca.
Recommended.
We enjoyed the meat so much that we were given two drinks on the house, which was a lovely gesture.

The steak florentine was impressive to look at but average in flavor compared to others I’ve had in the city. The pasta dishes were also average but the risotto with asparagus was enjoyable. The restaurant was quite cold and the service was slow. The cocktails were mediocre. The restaurant has a nice view of the duomo but other than the location it felt mostly like a tourist trap.

I have ordered beef with potatoes, and I forgot to tell them how to prepare the meat, and neither them asked it. I got a piece of blue meat which I was not able to eat it, I have asked them to make the meat one more minute to be "medium welldone". They took it back and brought later a piece of overcooked meat with a strong taste of charcoal and some bitterness. The only good part of the dish were potatoes, which were excellent.
Since this is not my first restaurant in Florence, I have to say that I ate beef much better on the other restaurants I've tried so far.
