You can't walk a block anywhere without seeing a gelato shop in Florence, BUT this little gelato shop is probably one of, if not THE, best in Florence.
It's a cute old school looking gelateria but the magic is the flavors. I got the riso...(rice pudding) and have truly never had anything like it before. It had the same texture and flavor of rice pudding (with actual rice in it) and it was probably the best scoop of gelato I had during my trip. I also tried the passion fruit gelato...and my issue with getting flavors like passion fruit is that usually its made with artificial syrups and/or overly sweetened. Not here. It was the purest tasting passion fruit gelato and so refreshing on a warm summer evening.
Did I mention that a generous small cone with two flavors is only 2 euro? They could charge way more and I'd still pay it for their gelato.More
Our favorite gelato in Florence after testing several. We had to hike out for this but totally worth it, and clear reason why there's always a line out the door.
There are so many non traditional creative flavors to choose from. Personal favorites included yogurt...with honey & walnuts and ricotta & fig. Though all 6 flavors we tried were good! Prices are still reasonable for the quality of the gelato.More
We ran into this Gelateria after a long stroll in the Florence center not knowing its high ranking with TripAdvisor. At that moment, there were no other customers, but us. As soon as we saw the unusual flavours we thought it would be somehow special....The gelato didn't disappoint us, it tasted really delicious and it wasn't pricier than other locations. If you like gelato, definitely give it a try.More
As one of the few artisan gelato places that is open late - this is definitely the one to come to. They have a wide selection of really great flavors - and is actual handmade gelato. I would highly recommend the ricotta pistachio, even if...you don’t like either - the combination is dreamy. Nicely located in Santa Croce near some great restaurants as well.More
Gelateria dei Neri was a weekly stop of mine when living as a student in Florence. The Nutella gelato (which is actually more like cold Nutella) is absolutely insane, especially when mixed with the caramel gelato (which they display right next to the Nutella flavour)....Probably calorific, but soooooo worth it!More
