This place has it all! First the wine, more than 2000 labels in the cellar! Fabulous wine bar with tasting and food. The on the house snacks are sooo good! Yum. The workers are so nice, helpful and knowledgeable. If shopping for wine they don't just want to spend your money. The market has so many food products you will... More

If you want to know what GREAT antipasto can be then have Antonella prepare a board for you. The only down side is that where ever else you go in Italy and order something you think will be similar you will be craving the board Antonella created instead. Our board had an assortment of cheeses both hard and soft, a... More

Went with a guide for a scheduled wine tasting. Variety of wines from Prosecca to Su[er Tuscan served along with fresh-made samples of Tuscan foods. Got good explanations and samples of the different types of Balsamics - real and otherwise. Nice basement tasting room but a bit warm and no A/C down there. They need to change out the very... More

Enoteca Alessi is fantastic casual place. Great place to have a glass of wine, antipasto & conversation. Antoinella is awesome and knowledgeable about the wine. Must check out the wine cellar. Can’t wait to get back. Thanks Antoinella!

We were taken to this place on an excellent food tour (Taste of Florence) and have returned every time we're in Italy. It is an excellent place for souvenirs, and to buy wine from all over Italy, and spirits from all over the world. And vinegar, and sweets. A one-stop shop. There is a few wine-tasting areas inside, and the... More

We love wine, I teach private wine appreciation classes back in the US. We have over 1600 bottles of wine in our wine cellar at home. We were looking for a place to escape the rain and we found this lovely Wine bar and store. We've been in Italy for several weeks tasting and trying great wine. PROS: The store... More

We stopped here for a glass of wine and wasn't disappointed. We had been here before 8 years ago, when we first experienced grappa. While I do not recommend the grappa, I do recommend this place for quality wine and high end spirits. They even provided a nice assortment of finger food to go with the wine.

We stopped by Enoteca Alessi for a quick glass of wine and it ended up being one of our favorite spots in Florence. Their selection of wine is wonderful, we had a great bottle of Brunello. The deli's cheese selection is just as wonderful as their wine. They served us an amazing burrata plate, pecorino plate and bruschetta. The atmosphere... More

If you are visiting Florence, then this is the place to come. Great wine with a huge wine cellar to choose from. They also serve food and it is delicious! So coming here is a must for anybody looking for great food and wine at a reasonable price.

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
