Description: The close artistic and cultural affinity between Venice and Florence has...
The close artistic and cultural affinity between Venice and Florence has brought an enchanting piece of the Venetian elegance in the amazing Tuscan capital. The historical Caffe Florian, opened in 1720 in St. Mark's Square in Venice, now finds its natural space in Florence, with the opening of this new and prestigious location where the exclusive coffeehouse and the fine dining meet the Contemporary Art. Part of the private Florian Art Collection is now here on show in a permanent exhibition, Aron Demetz, Mimmo Rotella, Fabrizio Plessi, Gaetano Pesce, Irene Andessner, Bruno Ceccobelli, Marco Nereo Rotelli, Paolo W. Tamburella, Luca Buvoli, Massimo Nordio, Arcangelo and Fausto Gilberti are some of the many both Italian and international artists who, over the years, reated exclusive pieces of art expressly for the Venetian Caffe Florian. And now their works are in Florence, to pay their tribute to the three centuries' tradition of style, elegance and refinement, that made the Florian name a renowned myth all over the world.

We were for dinner at Florian Caffè just some days before because some friends of us were here some weeks before and they had a great Experience. The place is lovely and all the settings is beautiful. It seems like you are inside a modern art works museum. The service and the dishes was the top noch of this place.... More

The original comes from Venice. However- this one in Florence- outshines it. cheaper, friendlier and more homey :)

We were recommended by our Firenze landlord to Florian, just a tad off the beaten path. The cuisine is creative and beyond the scope of the Fiorentina steak. The meal is well executed and appreciated by the cognizenti clientele.

I did have a nice experience at Florian. First I liked the decor and setting very much, a change from the "trattorie" that are on this side of town. Second I liked the menu, again different from the traditional "florentine" one. Service was good (but I do not know where they hide?!) and all in all definitely a place were... More

Our second visit to this modern restaurant (first visited and reviewed on Trip Advisor in November 2014) and again, we were not disappointed. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed (and recognised) by Daniel, the Manager. Food and presentation, as before, was excellent. We feasted on a fresh anchovy, shrimp and cherry tomato starter. To follow, I had chicken confit with... More

We wanted to try something modern and new for dinner (enough traditional restaurants for a while) and were referred to this place by the hotel. First, it was rather difficult to find, as the address number was a block or 2 away from where it “should have been.” Once we found it, we entered what seemed to be part café... More

We wandered into this excellent find because our 4 year old daughter spied a display of macarons from the sidewalk while touring the city. We entered and discovered a charming little cafe with great desserts, full bar and elegant atmosphere. We bought the obligatory macaron and made to leave, thinking we might come back for a cafe, but the host... More
