"La Cucina del Garga" arrived on the Florence restaurant scene when Chef Alessandro Gargani returned from an 8 year run as Executive Chef in New York City's famous "Mezzogiorno Restaurant" in SOHO. It is there that he practiced his craft, honed his recipes and started his family. From an early age, his parents Sharon Oddson and Giuliano Gargani AKA "Il Garga" had instilled in him their passion for food and art. In 2010, he returned to his hometown to continue the family tradition born at The Trattoria in Via del Moro and then brought here to Via San Zanobi. The restaurant is an art gallery as well as showcase where talented local artists have the opportunity to show their work and customers
What a great visit. We went because it was featured the food network show, but the Chef was working...so cool! He even took a picture with us through the window.
Service was amazing and offered an amazing complimentary appetizer...you should go!!!

Outstanding pasta (Tagliatelle Del Magnifico & Garganelle Al Sugo Del Babbo), very friendly and attentive service in a fun, interesting, art filled space. We had a really delicious meal and would definitely recommend.
We saw this restaurant on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives as well as on the Today's Show Kathy Lee & Hoda - since it wasn't far from our hotel, we decided to give it a try. The interior is full of art and guests are encouraged...More
Recommended by family members we found a corner table in this artsy restaurant a bit off the beaten path. Ambiance and service was good. Crayons on the table to try out your artistic inner self.
We received a glass of Prosecco and a tasting of...More
Chef Alessandro does a fantastic job in the kitchen blending traditional Tuscan recipes with updated ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the fresh fettuccine with orange and lemon zest, mint and Parmigiano in a creamy brandy sauce. However, I've dined here many times and I have never...More
We loved our experience here! The service was great and the local art on the walls and being able to draw on your table makes for a fun atmosphere! We had the garganelli with meat sauce which was delicious and then the fried braciole and...More
My wife and I had dinner this evening at la Cucina del Garga and really enjoyed the entire experience. We were warmly greeted at the door and directed into the dining area that was decorated with an amazing eclectic array of art. We were treated...More
Service was second to none (made us feel so welcome - no like tourists!), the menu was amazing - hard to choose - but when we did the quality & taste was fantastic. They left us to enjoy and helped when we needed it. so...More
