This restaurant was highly recommended by our hotel staff.. We are glad we dinned here. its not centrically located, but everything in Florence is at a near distance. The decoration is very artistic. The chef is also a painter.. Food is really good. We had the Salmon. they offer great variety of local wines. Service is great!

After reading the reviews I decided to take my husband for his birthday meal. The dishes are very large and the service was friendly and welcoming. The octopus with beans was delicious and drawing on the tables was great. All in all a good evening.

Listen, I don't say this lightly and it took me 10 minutes to set up my account to post this. THIS WAS THE BEST MEAL I HAVE EVER HAD!!! The restaurant is amazing, the staff is better and the food is so good it's hard to explain. I'll be back tomorrow and may take a trip back from Rome next... More

I’ve been there twice. First time was 2012 and it was my last night in Florence. At the end of the night I was kind of sad because I couldn’t come here again to taste magnificent cheesecake. I guess I wish very deep in my heart cause last summer I had a chance to visit Garga again. Last time they... More

What a wonderful little place! We were greeted with glasses of prosecco, and it only got better from there. My wife and I split a bottle of wine, and each got pasta dishes that were delicious. Then we splurged on cheesecake for dessert - honestly the best cheesecake we've ever had. Not too sweet, which is a nice change from... More

Had dinner there last night. The decor oozed creativity, the staff was smiling and attentive, and the food was in line with the decor: very creative. You are encouraged to draw on the paper tablecloth...this is the kind of place I would want to own...one just feels good bing there. Recommend highly

This was recommended by our hotel staff at Il Guelfo Bianco and we loved every aspect. The food was inventive, the service was classic, the other patrons were WELL DRESSED AND BEHAVED which in todays world was miraculous. (suppose few Brits and Texans were out that night! Easy to find and cooking classes also offered which we did not attend.

A nice place to eat dinner with English menus and English speaking servers. Food was good but not great. Sommelier's wine suggestions were excellent.

Second time I have eaten here. The food was excellent. My favorite dish was the tagliatelle in a brandy cream sauce with orange and lemon zest was outstanding - subtle flavors, light (for a cream sauce :) and perfect fresh pasta. Others in our group had the salmon and the spaghetti with clams, mussels, shrimp & octopus - both were... More

"La Cucina del Garga" arrived on the Florence restaurant scene when Chef Alessandro Gargani returned from an 8 year run as Executive Chef in New York City's famous "Mezzogiorno Restaurant" in SOHO. It is there that he practiced his craft, honed his recipes and started his family. From an early age, his parents Sharon Oddson and Giuliano Gargani AKA "Il Garga" had instilled in him their passion for food and art. In 2010, he returned to his hometown to continue the family tradition born at The Trattoria in Via del Moro and then brought here to Via San Zanobi.
The restaurant is an art gallery as well as showcase where talented local artists have the opportunity to show their work and customers can purchase paintings or sculptures to enrich their own private collections.
