The food is gorgeous, typical Tuscan kitchen. We found this small, but pleasant restaurant close to our hotel in Santo Spirito. The food was so good that we went back four times, always ordering different plates, all them just delicious. Owners are lovable and always present at the tables. I know, we are talking about food, but I must comment... More

No idea how this gets good reviews. We were in florence three weeks eating out once or twice a day and this was the standout bad meal. Lunch. Arancini balls were frozen in the centre, risotto ai porcini was as solid as a rock - certainly not made to order. Pasta was OK. Big group of young students were being... More

Greetings miss I remember her and her daughter (I think), I'm sorry that you have eaten so badly by us as we work hard 12 hours a day because this does not happen. I regret having made it to sit in the last available table near the door, and apparently having served the food that was not to his liking,... More

Very traditional Florence restaurant away from the tourist spots. Wonderful food, wine, local atmosphere. Owner is hands on and ensures that everything is perfect. Very reasonable prices. In my opinion, some of the best food we have had in Italy. A must see if you enjoy off-the-beaten path restaurants

This hidden gem is across the river from the Westin in a less touristy, more residential area of the city. It was personally recommended to us by Lorenzo, the manager at the Hotel Crocini where we stayed. The old school charm of the restaurant and genuine hospitality of the owner immediately impressed us. But what blew us away was the... More

My bf and I ate here tonight. Apart from not having 3 of things we wanted from looking at photos other people had posted on trip advisor, we finally got some food we were happy with. I had beef ravioli and shared a platter. My other half had truffle pasta which was simple and delicious. Definitely try the tiramisu. Wasn't... More

On a stroll through the small streets in Florence I came across Trattoria da Ginone. Fist I only asked for some street information and was helped in a very friendly way. Although a bit early for dinner I decided to sit down and let these nice people take care of me. The starter consisted of polenta with porcini, followed by... More

We stayed just a quick two minute walk away from this wonderful restaurant. We stumbled upon it on our first night in Florence and ended up going back just two days later. They were so accommodating to us, evening giving us a package of delicious coffee cookies when we left! We had the house wine (which we should have bought... More

For those not speaking Italian, here's a great place because they cater to foreigners, but without any condescension--one is genuinely welcomed & made to feel at home. I wanted a simple lunch & chose a (delicious) house-made pasta with zucchini + flowers sauce..it was the epitome of what uncomplicated Tuscan fare is all about...& at 9 Euros good value for... More

Had an excellent meal here after an afternoon across the river in the Uffizi Gallery. Shared bruschetta, black truffle linguine and the sliced beef salad. Loved the food and the friendly staff.

Good cod in tomato sauce, beef stew and delicious torte della nonna. Rather dubious wall plaque about women, washing machines and 90 degrees! But hey we went there to eat and not to have a feminist discussion!
