I hovered a bit over the star rating, finally choosing four but wanting to add a half star. My husband and I were strolling toward Santa Croce when we saw a restaurant with fabulous looking chianini beef in the window. We made a reservation for dinner on the spot. We were seated immediately when we arrived and the waiter was... More

Friendly staff and very good food and wine at reasonable prices. Can't give the place 5 stars because portions are a bit small and some corners of the room were not heated in January.

Went there for T-bone steak but the portion is too big for one person (minimum 1 kg.) so the waiter recommended me a grilled tenderloin steak served with rocket and cherry tomato. Gotta tell you... best steak ever!!! I could not recommend enough. Everything was so fresh and meat was very well grilled. I cleaned the plate in less than... More

This gem was centrally located, but if you aren't in the know, youre missing out! If you're a good patron, you can see this historical foundation dating back 2000+ years! Food was DEVINE! I know its hard to find less than delicious food in Florence, but this is where the locals go and aren't EVER dissappointed!

We had an apartment in the Santa Croce area just 1/2 block from Francesco Vini and decided to try one night. A distinguished gentleman waited on us. Wish I remembered his name but he was talk with graying hair and spoke very good English. I had braised beef with truffle potatoes and my partner had the chicken - both delicious.... More

My wife and I enjoyed our dinner here after having an excellent meal on a previous visit several years ago. Service was friendly and very welcoming. Although December isn't the best month for fresh tomatoes, our caprese was excellent. This may have been the first time the we have had the mozzarella served beside the tomatoes, allowing us to adjust... More

We visited this restaurant as a group prior to making the trip to Rome. Whilst the service was swift, the food wasn't really where Italian food usually is. The food was bland to boring, however the range of wines was impressive. When it came time to pay the waiter advised that we could split the bill & pay separately, however... More

I have reviewed this great place in the past and upon 'landing' in Florence, went straight there...what has changed? Thank goodness, NOTHING! The bistecca Fiorentina is displayed for all to see and is the best I've had in all of Florence. Cooked just right with truffled mashed potatoes (NOT truffle oil) and a salad big enough for two. Oh,I guess... More

Gnocchi was ok, but I've had better. We had someone who asked for gluten free and her meal came out covered in breadcrumbs. When it came to paying, it all became too hard for the rude and crusty woman behind the register. There are plenty of better places to eat in Florence.

When in Florence, there must be bistecca ala fiorentina! Tucked in one of the quaint side streets near the Uffizi is this very charming restaurant that displays humongous cuts of beef for the bistecca. We were ushered in and med with such gracious service. The highlight, of course, was the bistecca, done to perfection! Perfectly grilled, very tender, and so... More
