We went to have to dinner but the trattoria was full, so we made a reservation for lunch the next day. When we arrived, they already had a table with my name outside on the patio. The server was marvelous, so helpful with the menu. We order burrata and prosciutto to start, and then basilica ravioli, scaloppine and fiochetti, all... More

This place is hard to find but serves excellent gelato. The servings are small and they only take cash but the gelato tastes great. There was even a tour group there so it gets busy and has become famous

As I have written in other reviews, much Gelato sold to unsuspecting tourists in Florence (and Italy for that matter) is industrially produced in huge batches and tastes bland. This shop sells the real thing. A bit hard to find, convenient for concerts at St. Marks English Church, down a passageway - hence the name - well worth the effort... More

This is truly what gelato should taste like. Its not super sweet like all the other places, just a tasty treat that is true to flavor!

As you walk around Florence (or most of Italy for that matter) you become accustomed to seeing big fluffy mounds of gelato that are made up of bright colors. That stuff, however, is the fake stuff made to catch your eye. It is made out of a powered mix. This gelateria has the real deal--real gelato made from scratch. You... More

Great place to duck in for a scoop of ice cream Choices are limited to daily fresh made and we limited ourselves to one scoop for Euro 1 so we could come back again and again. My favorite was the lemon....!

If they have it, try the crema with mint. It's not like American mint ice cream, its like actual fresh mint leaves in vanilla ice cream. They dont always have it but definitely try it if they do. Sometimes they do lavender and rose in the same way and those are also really good. Their vanilla has hundreds of vanilla... More

Wanna find the "tiny little hole in the wall place with good gelato?" Here it is. Basically wait outside if someone is ordering, that's how small it it. Really good gelato! We paid 1 Euro per scoop. I will definitely be back!! Loved the raspberry!!!

This gelateria continues to be one of my favorite stops in Florence. The flavors are fresh and light and the price is right. A small shop with big flavor!

A little out of the way and worth the walk. The gelato is delicious. Hazelnut was a favorite. Buy it and then sit in the little piazza and people-watch as you enjoy your treat.

A stone's throw from the Ponte Vecchio, this gelateria opened up 1 month ago serves the perfect mint ice cream. The fior de panna (cream) and fresh mint leaves is nothing like your standard neon green industrial strength flavored mint ice creams. We went back (and again) to taste this hand crafted sublime delight.

Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
