A stone's throw from the Ponte Vecchio, this gelateria opened up 1 month ago serves the perfect mint ice cream. The fior de panna (cream) and fresh mint leaves is nothing like your standard neon green industrial strength flavored mint ice creams. We went back (and again) to taste this hand crafted sublime delight.

Best pistacchio you can find

I'm really picky with pistaccio ice cream, even in italy. It is hard to find a really good one and here they managed to find the perfect one! Totally worth it! And the fact that you pay for the ball is just awesome - perfect for desert!

Tucked away in a magical little piazza, this tiny shop is serving up truly special, handmade gelato. It was proclaimed the most enjoyable of our trip (even put the "World's Best" place in San Gimignano to shame.) The clementine and pear sorbettos stll call to us. Full of ripe, seasonal fruit flavor without being overly sweet, it was the perfect... More

We had gelati here several times during our last trip to Florence. The prices are much better than in the main areas of Florence and the gelati is tastier. We liked the Pistachio and Hazelnut flavours the most. Try it out when in Florence.

We lived very close to here and no matter how full we were from dinner, we always made a point to come back here! The best flavour was by far pistachio, very nutty, not too sweet with a pinch of sea salt to balance the sweetness. At 1 euro the price is just right, and the serving is small enough... More

This shop was a few meters from our apartment-hotel, Palazzo Belfiore, and we came twice for gelato--pistachio and hazelnut were such that we could really taste the nuts, which we never had before even at good gelato places. The flavors are not too sweet, which is something we look for, and it's just a euro for each scoop.

This must be the best ice cream I've tasted. Recommended by my son who travelled here a year ago we went after a visit to Santa Croche and Piazzela Michelangelo. The small piazza of the shop is quaint and sweet and lovely to sit and hang around a bit. Try the ice cream with fresh mint and/or the almond. Creamy,... More

The best I've tasted in Italy thus far. We had the pistachio and crema, it blew our minds. Very fresh and many unique flavors. Don't hesitate to visit, you won't be disappointed!

Gelateria della Passera has quickly become one of our all time favourites, and our little family consists of some serious gelato fiends. We'd put it up at the top of our list amongst some of the fabulous gelaterias of Rome. It's old school, in the best ways possible - traditional, big on friendly service, and fabulous, fresh ingredients and flavours.... More

Mamma mia-- the gelato at this place and also many other wonderful gelaterias in Florence is wonderful. Try the stracciatella, or the pistachio (pee-STAH-key-o) Some of the places have exotic flavors like chill pepper that are surprisingly tasty

Our Bed and Breakfast host recommended this place as a must do and wow was he right. It is hidden in a small piazza about one minute walk from the Piti Palace. Being situated off the main tourist road means that it is quieter than most of the gelato shops in town. Well priced as well, for only 5€ we... More

Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
