We sampled gelato all over Florence, Rome, Sorrento and Naples. None compared or stood up to this gelato! It was by far the best we've ever had. It was delicious, within 10 minutes we were back inside getting seconds. All the flavors were delicious. You can't go wrong with a stop in here!

This is my best place for gelato in Firenze. Going there for more than 3 years now, and its only getting better and better. The flavors are delicious and not too sweet. The texture is perfect and the service is always excellent. I would like to point out especially the pistachio and the nocciola flavors.

Had gelato at many different shops in Florence and Tuscany. This was off the beaten path with an understated shop. The pistachio, caffe, fig, peach and creme were the best I've tasted. The only problem was that I did not discover this gem early in my time in Florence to take full advantage of my two a day rule, everyday!

This cute little shop has no room to move around in, but will leave you wanting to buy more. While you do not see the gelato on display like most shops, you will not be disappointed. When you order any flavor you will get the exact taste of what you ordered. Mint taste like Mint Leafs. Several varieties and it... More

Some of the best tasting and most original I have sampled!! Off the beaten path with a nice seating area. Convenient to piazza Della Signoria!

Very tasty homemade ice creams. The price is very reasonable and the taste is just great. There is a small square in front where you can sit and enjoy your icecream.

There is not much to say other than we thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Gelateria della Passera. It is definitely one of the best places in Florence and at good prices! This gelato is a million miles away from all of the terrible tourist gelato bars you find in the popular locations. They offer traditional but also unique flavours. I... More

I studied in Florence for 4 months and my professor (who is also a Florentine tour guide) told me this was the best gelato in the city. It is so true! The gelaterias in the busy areas that have the gelato pilled up in mounds are not fresh or authentic. Gelateria della Passera gelato is freshly made each day with... More

We were pointed towards this gelato shop by our Air BNB host, and it definitely did not disappoint! In a city with what seems like hundreds of gelato shops stacked high with Snickers, Nutella, and other touristy ice cream, this place was the real deal. They don't even show the gelato, it is hidden away with lids on, and have... More

We were introduce to this spot by our bike tour guide and was shocked that you can get a single scoop of homemade gelato for 1 euro. We had the lemon and chocolate chip. Smooth, creamy and flavorful.

A stone's throw from the Ponte Vecchio, this gelateria opened up 1 month ago serves the perfect mint ice cream. The fior de panna (cream) and fresh mint leaves is nothing like your standard neon green industrial strength flavored mint ice creams. We went back (and again) to taste this hand crafted sublime delight.

Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
