It is located very near the Piazza del Signoria and we have been having lunch here since 1963. The quality of the pizza is always excellent. Thin crust and fresh crushed tomato sauce that is to die for. I recommend you not get a lot of toppings, since they only detract from the marvelous tomato flavor. About $15 per person.

We visited this friendly eaterie for a quick lunch before leaving Florence for the airport. Very friendly service with a large menu. We opted for basic spaghetti with pesto....superb! Sometimes the simple things, whwn well done, are great!

A dinner with two pizzas, a bottle of white wine, two pieces of cheese cake, two coffees and two liqueurs cost 82 €. I can understand the central position of the restaurant makes the price rises, but the bill was too expensive in my opinion, in particular 7,50 € for a piece of cake and 5,00 € for a commercial... Not far from the Plaza de La Segnoria and the Uffizi, we came across this restaurant. There was nobody touting for custom outside, which gave us a chance to check the menu out in peace and without feeling rushed.A peek through the window showed tables laid with linen tablecloths and happy looking people, so in we went. The atmosphere was... More

I was ready for lunch but it was early by Italian standards. The first place I came to that was open was Casa del Vin Santo. I commented on this to the owner/chef and he said that they are open from 10:30 am to close to midnight everyday. I was the only person in there and the staff was very... More

We tried this restaurant me and my friend while being on vacation in Florence. The pizza was burnt from the bottom so pointed it out and the seafood on the pizza were old and very uncooked. He asked if we wanted to change it with another pizza we asked for something else. We ordered Creme Caramel which was more of... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
