When looking for a “top 10” wine bar in Florence, Mangiafoco came up as an option, and is certainly good as a wine bar, however, is far better experienced as the “Osteria / Tartuferia”, with many excellent dishes with black (or white, if in season)...truffle. Good choice of meats & cheeses to start (or end) the meal, and all complimented with good (local) wines, for which we got excellent explanations from the in-house sommelier.More

Great red wines, AMAZING scampi ravioli, impeccabile service. Highlights: handmade pasta and such good desserts. The staff is so attentive and nice, plus the place is super cute: the decor is warm and stylish at the same time. In summer the little tables outside are...just the best. It's very close to Ponte Vecchio though is hidden from the crazyness of the crowd: perfect, right? ♥️More

After three hours of an amazing Galleria Uffizi tour, we were looking for a place to have a bite, and a chilled glass of white. What a pearl we discovered! Beautiful food, great choice of Tuscan wines, absolutely amazing and friendly staff! Tartufo menu is...exceptional! Florence is a place where we come back gladly, and this is just another reason to!More

Constant Companion and I were completing our first full day in Florence. Walking around side streets, looking for place patronized by locals, is our habit. When we looked in the window of Mangiafoco Osteria Tartuferia we found our dining spot. Warm and inviting, with an...excellent, friendly, English speaking staff was a bonus! We decided to split a local offering of Tuscan cured meats with Pecorino and lettuce. A prelude to two weeks of gastronomic excess! For an entree, CC selected the Tagliatelle with Portobello Mushrooms and Olive Oil. I chose the Spaghetti with Olive Oil and Garlic. Both were cooked al dente and while not overly large perfect for us. A few selections of Tuscan whites and reds and we were completely satisfied! We loved it so much that we planned to return to Mangiafoco at the tail end of our trip but did not make it. Guess we will just have to make it a priority for another trip to Firenze!More

This quaint restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel today (we wanted authentic Italian, not a tourist trap.) Upon walking in, it’s incredible to see the vast array of wine selection the restaurant offers. The waitress assisted us in choosing a bottle of red...wine, a variety of Brunello di Montalcino which is famously produced in the region. It was a great selection! The lunch was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed a starter of an assortment of prosciutto, then I ordered the ravioli myself that was filled with burrata cheese, with a tomato sauce. As great as it was, my partners paccheri with cime Di rapa and cinghiale was even better. Both sauces perfectly seasoned and pasta al dente. We each also enjoyed a desert, ricotta cake and coconut moose cake, though neither was as good as the main dishes. Cosy little restaurant, good service, nice atmosphere and adequately priced.More

We had a reasonably good meals at this restaurant in January 2020. We shared an anti pasta, a pasta dish and roast pork with potatoes. Food was good, Our seating was not the best - seated right in front of the toilets and next to...the kitchen. Service was good. Meals are little bit on the expensive side but the restaurant is worth a visit.More

A great restaurant hidden in a small street in the centre of Florence. We took the artichokes salad, the raviolis as well as pastas with FRESH truffles and it was absolutely exquisite ! Great wine selection too. On top, my mother-in-law had forgotten her [expensive]...scarf on that night, and the day after we were so happy to find out that the staff had kept it & gave it back to us with a lovely smile ! Thank you for the great experience & for your honesty ! We'll surely come back if we even go back to FlorenceMore

This is the third year we have visited Mangiafoco. It is located next to our preferred Hotel. We had lunch here, tow days in a row. The service was excellent (and remembered us from our previous visits). The wine selection is excellent, as well as...the food choices. Also, this restaurant will prepare almost all of their dishes with either black or white truffels, if you want to splurge. My favorite is the Ravioli with black truffel sauce.More

We don't like to pick restaurants from lists..... we prefer to wander and discover them. This was a very satisfying find! The menu was very Tuscan but creative with a selection not usually found on a traditional menu. The flavors were superb! The atmosphere was...warm and pleasant. Looking forward to returning before we leave Florence. Recommend roast pork and potatoes! And sample the cheeses! Also a great place to pick up some gourmet-goodie gifts.More
