Classic gelato - subtle flavours and not full of sugar and fat. gelato is kept in the freezer below the counter in small stainless steel buckets. They only make enough for one day so you know it's fresh. This is the traditional gelato method which isn't for tourists looking for American style ice cream - there is a significant difference.

Nice to find fine chocolate in my neighborhood and not have to fight the crowds closer in to the center of town.

If you are in Florence and love chocolate you must visit Vestri! They sell the best chocolates I have ever had. I bought some as gifts for friends and family. They agree that this is amazing chocolate. The staff were very friendly and spoke English. The gelato was also very good, but we were there for the chocolate.

A cup of gelato affogato with fresh strawberries...what could be more delicious ? This was not it. Yes the berries were fresh but covered in honey. The gelato was thin and grainy and tasteless. There are far better places in Florence, including Riva Reno a block away. The chocolate looks good, but I haven't had it. Probably more their specialty.

Small chocolate and gelato shop. I had the best chocolate gelato that I have ever had - 70% dark chocolate gelato.

Very tasty home made authentic gelato. Go here if you want to try the real stuff! All gelato kept in closed steel pots to keep it cold (so you know it is high quality). Yum!

That is much they care about quality control. Fantastic Gelato and chocolate. They are artisans. Locals know best and they support this establishment.

You will find here all kinds of chocolate varieties. I was able to create my own gift-box of assorted dark chocolates. The hot chocolate is also really thick and rich here

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
