Our hotel recommended this restaurant and it was excellent. The ravioli was beautiful; light and perfectly cooked with basil. The atmosphere was lovely and the waiter was attentive and gave us lots of tips for our stay.

Lovely restaurant serving traditional Italian food. Went there on our first night in Florence and was not disappointed. Friendly service accompanied the delicious food well.

Family dinner. Found on TA. Right from the moment we entered till we left we felt like the guests of honor, and the waiter (from Abruzzo region), lead is through the menu, and was very helpful to find a suitable wine, and it was not even the most expensive one non the substantial wine card, but a great super Tuscan.... Close to the Galleria dell'Accademia and were looking for a restaurant out of the way. This was excellent being just around the corner. Well air-conditioned and great food and service.

In this lovely restaurant, prices were very decent and food excellent. Pizza margherita is 7 Eur and pasta around 15 Eur. Glass of wine starting... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant which was our best meal in 5 nights. Friendly, professional service. We had chicken parm which was delicious. Nice menu selection. Generous portions, a good value. Enjoy!

I have been to this restaurant twice (so far!) with my family. The first time, I shared the 'house menu' with my dad; it began with a platter of meats, cheese, bruschetta and chicken liver pate on toast, all of which were delicious, especially the pate. Then, we had a ravioli dish each - accompanied by mushrooms - as a... More

We only stayed one night in Florence and we visited the Ristorante Academia as it was close to where we were staying and it had some good reviews. We were not disappointed....the rabbit wrapped in lard and stuffed with scamorza was particularly traditional and delicious. The kids loved their meals as well. Staff were friendly and efficient! Highly recommended.

it had started to rain after our visit to the Accademia and the Piazza della Signoria and since it was 1pm we decided to enjoy some lunch. The offerings were delicious from the bruschetta to the pasta with bacon and asparagus tips! Yum! But my husband's favorite was the gnocchi with mozzarella, red sauce and basil. Simple, local and delicious!!... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
