A find from Tripadvisor! We were on a day trip to Florence and noted this restaurant on Tripadvisor. It's slightly off the main tourist areas a block up from the Duomo but worth the short walk. Staff are friendly, food is good and service was sharp. Road and path outside was being repaved but it was still very quiet.

Visited this restaurant for a good hearty Italian meal. The food was plenty for the price we paid. The staff were very friendly from the moment we arrived. The tiramisu to finish the meal was the highlight!

We returned to Accademia Restaurant roughly a year after our marriage! It is the only place we returned to following our trip to Florence a year ago. The wine was excellent. We were greeted with a good range of breads and even received a complementary Sheeps cheese with homemade chilli chutney, which was delightful. Our starters and mains were equally... More

Great food. Great service. Recommend to all! Went for a quick lunch after the Accademia museum and ended up staying for several hours and 4 courses. All divine Italian food. Recommend the rabbit for a main dish and the pistachio mousse for dessert.

Went to this restaurant with our family and the staff and food was excellent, and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this restaurant for couples, families, and for any occasion. We initially tried it for lunch, but, we had such a great experience that we went back for dinner. Try it out.

I lived in Florence for a year 5 years ago, ate here multiple times per month, and have continued to go to this restaurant every year since (returning on vacations), and it maintains great quality, ambiance and staff. They have a great salad (Michelangelo salad) which I have always found to be a rarity in Italy. I ate here for... More

A fun night in this restaurant in Florence where the staff is super friendly, making the guests taste different things, explaining the origins of the products. The food is excellent, traditional and very tasty. Excellent!

This was an incredible dinner with classic tuscan fare. The service was absolutely outstanding - the waiter refused to serve me a glass of wine from a freshly opened bottle after he had determined that the wine had gone bad. The food was incredible. We had the artichoke/tuna salad to start, I had the ravioli stuffed with spinach and riccota... More

This was a recommendation from a colleague and she didn't steer us wrong. First of all the prosciutto and cantaloupe starter was almost perfection on a plate. The homemade pasta and meatballs were perhaps the best I've ever had. The wine list is well priced and we had had an excellent Brunello di Montalcino for about 50€. Lastly as you... More

In San Marco square which is a little bit scruffy and out of the way. A short walk from our hotel, we really wanted pasta and the food did not disappoint. Two beers, two wine, sharing meat and cheese platter plus two pastas €64 so not bad, service just ok

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
