"Best gelato ever" are three words that adorn reviews, billboards, social media, and just about anything else. So, acknowledging that "ever" is a quantifier that cannot be proven, this is some of the best gelato we've ever eaten in Italy. If you are looking to...put ice cream in your mouth, there are dozens of gelateria within a few minutes walk in Firenze. If you want to make a point of intentionality, then make the extra effort to walk to Le Carraia. There is a sister shop on the other side of the Arno, and while we haven't been there, it would be weird if that place didn't have the same superb ingredients and great flavors.More

One of the best places in Firenze for great ice creams. Pistachio ice cream is one of the best. They have they own flavours which are delicious.

My wife and I lived in Italy for 2 years and Germany for 4 years. We have sampled our share of literally dozens of different gelaterias. La Carraia is literally the best of them all! The flavor and texture of the gelato was superior in...every way. There were several selections of great flavors from which to choose. The reasonable price also surprised us and clearly set La Carraia apart from all of its rivals in the area. We loved this place so much, we visited it three times over our two nights in Florence! I highly recommend this specific gelateria!More

No large tourist queue, fair prices, very tasty ice cream, nice setting. All that you would expect from a good gelateria.

Best gelato in Italy. You will see lines, but they are there for a reason...the gelato is simply the best in Italy. And it is very very affordable. The staff is very nice...and there are lots of flavors to please everyone's taste. Definitely visit if...you are in Florence. We visited it every day for 3 days and skipped dinner and just had gelato one evening. Location on the Arno is great too.More

This is one of the best gelateria in Florence. We tried the mint and the chocolate, the pistacchio and the vanilla. All were super tasty. A place to visit.

Now there is ice cream and there is gelato. No difference, oh yes there is. I am not a great fan of ice cream normally bland and tasteless. Gelato is another thing which normally means creamy unusual flavours and La Carraia Gelateria was the best...we found on our visit. Great flavours that remained to the final lick. As you would expect there are hundreds of similar establishments dotted around the City so this may not be the best but it was certainly very good and we did go back there for a treat.More

I'm very picky about gelato and ice cream, and we visited several gelaterias in Florence and the nearby towns. This was by far the best. The flavours were good, and stayed strong right to the last mouthful. I particularly recommend the chocolate orange, and the...salted peanut, but they were all very good. Lovely texture, and reasonably priced.More

I tried multiple gelatorias in Florence and La Carraia was definitely my favorite. They always had a line out the door, but had at least three people behind the counter so the line moved quickly. I tried a few different flavors, but my favorite ended...up being the yogurt with Nutella (I know, I'm weird). And they offer a 1.50 euro cup, which is smaller and cheaper than most anywhere else, but filled mountain high.More
