Introduced to us by our hotel Continentale. The restaurant was a few km walk over the Pontefract Vecchio and towards the Piti Palace. Set right in front of the palace we were seated outside on a beautiful summer evening. We ordered a mixed appetiser consisting of salad, cold cuts and cheese topped with a lot of truffle shavings, followed by... More

It wasn't our first choice for the night but we finally ended here and had a plate of pasta with a glass of wine. We were seated outside and we were surprised the street was so quiet on a Saturday night. Dinner was good and the staff was friendly. I'm very surprised with the very bad reviews, we found the... My wife and I stumbled upon Ristorante Caffe Pitti on our first night in Florence and after looking at the menu decided to give it a go without looking at any online reviews. While being located right next to the Piazza de Pitti created a very busy atmosphere, the al fresco dining area was nice on a warm August evening.... More

Pasta with (microscopic) truffles cost 26 Euro at this nothing special in any way street caffe. We regretted not checking why the price was missing in the menu when we ordered the food. The place is surviving probably only due to the fact that it is across from the Palazzo Pitti and Boboli Gardens.

Visited this café a few times for lunch and loved it. Had different things each time and liked them all. On two occasions there were 6 of us to keep happy too! The service was good, with nice and friendly staff. All seemed happy to be working there which makes a difference.

View of plaza is the real reason to go here. Good and service are good as well. Draught beer and nice wine selection makes it fun to sit at the cafe and enjoy the sights

Being next to the Pitti, I was afraid it would be a tourist trap, but the food was excellent. Fresh ingredients well prepared, and reasonably priced. Paolo was a first-rate server, friendly and attentive. I had two different meals, one of pasta, the other a very fresh salad, and enjoyed both.

I have eaten many good meals here in Florence; this was not one of therm. The food was somewhat bland and overpriced relative to many other places to dine. To be fair, we chose the place because it had many open tables while the neighboring restaurants were crowded. Now I know why. Give it a pass.

Don't need to talk about location as it's a no brainer. But the food is fu### good! Fresh and good. Try the Mix appetizer with truffle: flan, carpaccio and burrata!!! The service was very kind and spoke English well! Go for it!!!

Yes, it's a tourist restaurant with café attached. As it was raining we decided a quick bite in the small café would be sufficient. We were greeted by a cheerful guy, took a table and ordered Panini and some beer, the waiter hung around chatting, a genuinely nice guy. Lunch was okay, didn't seem overpriced considering the area, so I've... More

Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
