This restaurant needs all the praise it can get as the food and service are excellent. It is obvious that great love and attention is given to the food here, and if we lived closer we would visit often. We had a really lovely evening...and throughly recommend.More

My partner and I enjoyed an excellent meal at B.O.r.G.O yesterday evening. It's a really sweet little restaurant with a nice atmosphere, interesting menu and welcoming, attentive staff. The Patanegra was particularly excellent and we'll remember our evening for a long time to come. We'll...definitely be back if we're lucky enough to visit this amazing city again in the future.More

This is a charming restaurant with an amiable and enthusiastic owner clearly trying to put a distinctive stamp on some traditional Italian favourites, taking pride in local ingredients. As a starter we had a refreshing Crema Piselli (a fresh pea 'cream' with ginger) then went...for the roast rabbit and the beef tartare and could not resist the deconstructed Rhum Baba - basically a glass of rum with chunks of dipping chocolate! A selection of fine local cheeses helped dispose of the remains of an excellent bottle of Morellino. Everything was cooked perfectly but if I am allowed one criticism, I would urge the owner to go stronger on the flavour combinations he has created.More

I am not pleased in writing this review, because the owner (I guess) was very nice, and it's clear that puts a lot of effort, and the place has a great ambiance (although the street noise is a bit loud). Basically we (me and my...partner) think that it was too expensive for what we got. We can understand the size of the dish, which left us with hunger, but the problem was that it was quite flavorless. The gnocchetti really didn't taste of anything (it had vegetables and a saffron sauce, 15 eur), while the prawns were discrete, although the millefeuille was great (28 eur). For these prices we would like to have flavors to remember the next day. I see in other reviews that the owner replies that the customer should express the point of view in the restaurant. Obviously this is awkward, and I would have done it if he would have asked, which I encourage to do, since otherwise his service would have been impeccable. Indeed, he offered some baba ganoush while we were waiting that was quite good. Wines selection looks good, we had two glasses. The bread is inedible, but honestly I guess my taste in this clashes with Florentine tradition.More

Amazing restaurant! The team at B.O.r.G.O. is clearly passionate about what they do and it shows on the plate. The food was great from start to finish (don't miss the rum baba!), and we received a really warm welcome. One of our highlights in Florence!

My wife selected B.O.r.G.O. for dinner based on its on-line reviews. Those reviews were accurate and we were not disappointed. We used Uber to travel from our hotel to the restaurant, but had some difficulty finding our destination (through no fault of Uber’s). When we...finally reached the location in Uber’s system, the restaurant was nowhere to be found. Fortunately, a waiter from another restaurant showed us to our destination. We explained our difficulty finding B.O.r.G.O. to its owner. He told us that another restaurant with a similar name had opened in the area. That restaurant had closed, but customers were still having problems finding his establishment. We recommend using the address on the restaurant’s website, rather than relying on Uber’s system. B.O.r.G.O. is a small (about 8-10 tables) restaurant serving Italian cuisine with a twist. The chef prepares both typical Tuscan food as well as dishes with slightly more “spice.” We sampled two of the chef’s “spicy” dishes and found them to be quite flavorful, but not at all “hot.” We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at B.O.r.G.O. Its food was delicious and its owner was a gracious host. The service was excellent. We heartily recommend this restaurant.More

This is a great little restaurant. The food was excellent. The service was great. It is much more pan Mediterranean than we were expecting. The meatballs were outstanding.

No outside seating, but still a great experience. The owner/manager/host is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Typical wine list for Firenze. Outstanding food - we really wanted to get back here for another meal but could not get it done. Small menu, but we found no...shortage of great dishes to try. A bit off the beaten tourist path, since over the river from the duomo area and up the street aways. But you will not be disappointed if you eat here!More
