The main course we ordered the T- bone steak for two persons as many people recommend. The steak really good taste and big portion.(1 kilo) We love this restaurant especially... More

Indeed this is a good place with a large choice but the service is too long and nobody seemed to be able to advise us on the wine to choose even if the card is very rich. The "steak à la Florentina" was good but not enough rare for us (the way we wanted to have it was even not... More

We took the menu with 4 dishes at 35 euros, the food was simple but really good. They provide you apetizer and one digestiv, perfect for alcohol lovers. The owner is really sympathic and advice you really good wine for cheap. Really good restaurant but a little bit to expensive. I think it's better to take the menu at 50... More

We had dinner here as a large group and the staff were just fantastic! Most of us ordered the T-bone steak and it was cooked to perfection! One of the best meals I had on my Italy trip. Starter and pudding were excellent also-and price was reasonable- definitely recommend.

We went to this restaurant. Location is not very good not very easy to arrive. Good food in principle and good resturant. Staff committed but not enough personal. We in general had good food however no care for the specific order. I ordered a médium-Well steak that came rare. Needed to take back to kitchen and then flavour had gone.... More

Dear customer , we noted some confusion in his review , first of all we are sorry that we were not so good to satisfy its needs ; but we still like to make you remember that The Florentine steak must be only rare !!! or maximum cooking average but not as you wanted . Anyway thank you for your... More

Choose this one because it is quite near where we stayed, and It turned out to be an amazing experience! Very polite waiter, quiet environment and delicious food. Even better, we got 20% off by booking through "the fork", so we paid 72 euro for three people.

We booked a table after passing this unremarkable restaurant on a side street close to our hotel. I am lucky we did. We were greeted cordially at doorstep and received excellent customer service despite our baby being a little cranky at times. He did get a luxury baby chair though. We both had salads and fish main dishes that were... More

Belcore was one of the few restaurants with available seats at 9pm when we search TripAdvisor for a restaurant near the train as we will only be arriving back to Florence from our day trip late. We decided to eat at Belcore based on TripAdvisor high rating (4.5 stars) and restaurants listed Michelin guide. Not sure whether my wife and... More

Passed by this unremarkable restaurant and noticed Michelin Guide and Trip adviser signs. Booked online, received warm efficient welcome and a free glass of prosecco. Starters were aubergine tart and scampi ravioli both light and delicious. Mains were sea bass, scallops, and asparagus, and pork tenderloin ,ginger sauce and "apple pie"". We forgot to order sides so we had room... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
