My husband and I went here for dinner - the food was incredible and the service was great! A wonderful spot for a date night or nice family dinner.

The Food brings you in, the service brings you back . Antonio is so passionate about his restaurant, has been a real pleasure to watch him work and taste Gratella' s amazing food. Really appreciated the hospitality and enjoyed the amazing Fiorentina Steak.

We read about this restaurant in Rick Steve's Italy; usually he notes if reservations required (or advised). Although it didn't note it, they did ask if we had a reservation, but, no problem we seated quickly anyway. It seemed like a popular restaurant which is...nice; we arrived when it first opened in case it was full. My sister and her husband shared pasta with boar, I think, and a steak with mushrooms; they enjoyed both. They are foodies/culinary and enjoyed it very much. My husband and I have to eat very small sizes and shared roast potatoes (very tasty!) and a sirloin steak. We wanted to try the female fillet, but the waitress suggested that the sirloin wold be be thicker and able to be cooked more without drying out too much (I'm surprised she mentioned that accommodation as my BIL, as well as others, mentioned that the local chefs cook meat a certain way to enhance and will not cook it to another level - if you got a problem with, there's the door; it did come out pretty rare.) My husband who refuses to eat anything less than well done manfully ate the steak oozing pretty red juices. We were hoping to be able to use the table top brazier so that we could cook to the different tastes. The only true negative was the bread, and I can't say if it was terrible or just because I understand Florentine bread doesn't have salt. Both men enjoyed their wine, red and white, and prosecco. Waitress patiently answered questions. Prices seemed comparable although it seems like everything in Europe is expensive!More

passed by the restaurant the other day and it was crowded with lots of locals queing in front. The next night we passed by and there's not much queueing, so we go and tried them out. The waiter was very helpful and she explained and...recommend a lot of stuff to us. I accidentally over ordered (i think), but most of her recommendation was very good! She was knowledgeable and explained quite a bit about their steak, it was huge steak and delicious, there's still quite a bit of meat left since I was very full, and they kindly gave us additional discount! we ordered : - ribollita (don't know how they're supposed to taste, but we find it comforting to eat their ribollita soup) - tagleatele al ragu --> the wild boar meat was divine! seriously, this was an oomph taste for me! - the female steak ala florentine, really good meat, I liked it, my wife wasn't a fan of red rare meat, but she still ate few pieces - side dish of steamed baby onion? this one was okay but not our preference though - small carafe of house wine all in all, it's a great place and great experience, the food is amazing, and the short black haired lady waiter is very informative, along with the old lady (i think she might be the owner) who sometimes served us our food is very warm (she smiles a lot, which i prefer since I think italians doesn't smile a lot). definitely recommended and I would gladly go there again if i ever back in florenceMore

We had dinner and it was fantastic. I think its a restaurant whit less tourists and a lot of locals. Its small but the food is great and the price is really low. Can recommend it to everyone.

I got here early on a Saturday night, and was worried that my lack of reservation would be a problem, but I was seated right away. The service was good and the food was delicious. My husband and I ate here years ago, and the...owner Marianna (who my husband had a crush on) is still there. She was so sweet and friendly to me when I told her how much we had enjoyed our meals there. The place was very busy, so reservations are probably a good idea.More

This place is the ultimate hidden gem. Local family run place and the food is excellent. We had dinner twice here as it was so good. The steak (T-Bone) is superb. Staff are all friendly, expect them to be recommending things to you but their...advice is worth everything. They don’t overcharge, and if anything always look to give you a small discount on your bill. All those with negative comments on this place don’t obviously get their culture. The amount of locals v tourists speaks volumes. Must try and believe me you will enjoy.More

Outstanding food at reasonable prices! My wife and I just returned from our two week trip through Italy and we were fortunate to stumble on this great restaurant. They also have a small, intimate courtyard in the back. The Fagottini de pecorino and pears was...the best pasta I've ever had. We also shared a petite Florentine steak for dinner and it was superb! We appreciated that they offered a smaller cut of the Florentine steak. It was still huge, but manageable for two people.More
