We read about this restaurant in Rick Steve's Italy; usually he notes if reservations required (or advised). Although it didn't note it, they did ask if we had a reservation, but, no problem we seated quickly anyway. It seemed like a popular restaurant which is...nice; we arrived when it first opened in case it was full. My sister and her husband shared pasta with boar, I think, and a steak with mushrooms; they enjoyed both. They are foodies/culinary and enjoyed it very much. My husband and I have to eat very small sizes and shared roast potatoes (very tasty!) and a sirloin steak. We wanted to try the female fillet, but the waitress suggested that the sirloin wold be be thicker and able to be cooked more without drying out too much (I'm surprised she mentioned that accommodation as my BIL, as well as others, mentioned that the local chefs cook meat a certain way to enhance and will not cook it to another level - if you got a problem with, there's the door; it did come out pretty rare.) My husband who refuses to eat anything less than well done manfully ate the steak oozing pretty red juices. We were hoping to be able to use the table top brazier so that we could cook to the different tastes. The only true negative was the bread, and I can't say if it was terrible or just because I understand Florentine bread doesn't have salt. Both men enjoyed their wine, red and white, and prosecco. Waitress patiently answered questions. Prices seemed comparable although it seems like everything in Europe is expensive!More
