Had to wait a while for a table, worth the wait! A very popular location with locals and tourists alike, great vibe, great food. We had an excellent suggested local region wine, a simple but plentiful pasta and oso busco. Service was very attentive, waiter...was a great resource. Lots of chatter between tables, a very relaxed atmosphere! Highly recommended, make a reservation in advance!!More

We were very excited to try this hyped, well recommended restaurant. The place was packed, very animated, loud and dynamic atmosphere. The waiter was friendly but the service was chaotic and quite disorganized. We had a good florentine steak but the sides tasted as if...they had been prepared ahead of time and reheated. The pasta was below average. Come for the ambiance....More

It was by far the best restaurant in Florence. The restaurant is family style, the waiters are enthusiastic and the food is beyond delicious. Make a reservation and expect to wait as it is worth every second.

We just returned from a six night stay in Florence. This restaurant came recommended by a friend and did not disappoint at all! In fact, we decided to go back again for dinner later in our stay. The food was fantastic, particularly the rigatoni dish...(to the point that we ordered an additional plate!). Our family also enjoyed other dishes,. The ambiance of a traditional Tuscan trattoria made it extra special as did the great service. As others have noted, reservations are very important. Can’t wait to go back!More

Traditional restaurant with great food. The rigatoni pasta was delicious as was the Pappardelle. Reservations essentials

Total tourist trap. The Fiorentina steak is 10x the price that it's worth. Ordered it medium rare and it came medium well/well done. Cut of meat was too thin as well. We asked for the house wine and our waiter served us two different wines...that were more expensive. Couldn't even refuse either, just poured and said we'd enjoy. Save your time and spend your money somewhere elseMore

Crowded, kind of tourist trap, expensive compared to other trattorias in the area. $$$. We were seated promptly, but mediocre to poor service. Small portions. Once it is enough for me, tried and did not like it. Take your chance, you may be luckier than...me.More

Typical florentine spot. The rigatoni is the best I ever had. Waitstaff is downright rude and non attentive. Even though the food was decent, the surly cameriere will prevent a return there for us.

My friends and I had lunch at 13 Gobbi and it was easily our favorite meal of the trip! The rigatoni was a standout favorite. The service was great and everyone enjoyed their meal. It seemed like there were many locals and not many tourists...which made it an even better experience. We will definitely be back!More

Totally overrated and overpriced. Bland food and the restaurant resembled a money machine with way too many tables (which did not contribute to a nice setting) and way too high prices for food that we could have easily made ourselves.

We went here for our first night as it was recommended but we wish we hadn’t. Our waiter was great but that was the only decent thing about the meal. There was a huge queue outside even though we had booked (they opened at 7.30pm...supposedly but didn’t start letting people in till 7.40pm) and there was a very strange process where it was who could get the hostess’s attention the quickest to be seated - hard to do when you’re 2 overly polite British folk and you have all the yanks around you who push in. We finally got her attention and then were seated in the brighter area of the restaurant past the bar. It smelt a bit weird in there too - like damp mould. The anchovy bruschetta was average and the mushroom tagliatelle and wild boar ragu were bland and something a University student could make. The aubergine parmiagiana was also like a microwaveable basic meal from a btech supermarket. It was also over priced and totally overrated. Don’t bother going as there are a lot of other decent restaurants that don’t have the ‘name’ or where you have to queue for basic tasteless food. 2 rum and diet cokes were overpriced at €28 - the price of an upmarket bar in London. The Prosecco was cold and delicious and served in a nice flute. Don’t fall into the trap that we did. Better a rough diamond than a polished turd.More

Made to feel like a stupid tourist for paying too much for an overpriced dinner. Can’t quite get my head around it, was that supposed to be my fault?!

Excellent little restaurant serving Tuscany classics. Great setting, good service, try the house chianti too as it’s delicious. Good place for a large group as well, the restaurant looks small from the outside but has plenty of room inside.

We loved the rigatoni!! Get it maybe two. The bolognese was also good. The chicken was just ok. Our server started off not so friendly but then warmed up and was very sweet. I liked the Italian charm of this restaurant.

We asked our taxi driver (who is a local) for a recommendation for dinner after being dropped at the Piazza della Rebuplica (wonderful square btw). He informed us that Trattori 13 Gobbi was his spot for the best Florentime steak. After exploring Florence for a...couple of hours, we made a decent trek over to Gobbi. The place looked fairly busy (to be expected) but nobody was waiting for a table or anything. We were greeted dismissively with "You can come back in an 1 - 1.5 hours if you want. The restaurant is full," with an I-couldn't-care- less tone. While I'm sure I could have suggested I wpukd simply wait for an open table, why bother when greeted with such disregard. I guess there that good. Next!More
