Waitress was rude. People say to go on the other side of the river for a more truly authentic experience. If that's the case, then I'll spend my money on the touristy side. Unfortunate, because the meal was pretty good. Outside seating gets reserved quickly, so if you don't plan ahead you'll be eating in. It's pretty small and cramped... More

I had to write this while still in the restaurant. What a hideous place. Booked a table for 5 and they sat us inside. It's bright and hot. No tables available outside. The waiter Tommy was lovely but that is the only redeeming thing about this place. The house wine is vinegar, the bread is stale and tastes like flour... More

The outdoor seats bring you close up to a parade of pedestrians and Vespas and taxis and, of course, dogs on leashes, and while the indoor spaces are small, they're comfortable (except on the lower level, where the old stone walls make it quite the echo chamber if there're many other people there). Yes, there're locals who clearly have become... More

The address here is not precise. You need to look for the entrance visible in photos. Sweet part:The salads are very good. Fish and meat stew were ok. Staff were very polite Bitter part: 1.extremely slow in service. It took them 45 minutes to bring our salads and 70 minutes for the food! 2.menu is only Italian 3.I wanted my... More

We did a long Florence touring day and came across this cute restaurant on our walk home. They were able to seat us! Wait staff was amazing. Really and truly one of the best experiences we have had (and I have Posted 30-40 restaurant reviews). Waiter knew the menu perfectly and the species and sauces!! Food was delicious - I... More

Our hotel shuttle dropped us off near here and we smelled the delicious aroma of dinner and decided to try it the next night. It turned out to be the best dinner of the trip. Recommended are crostini toscani (chicken liver pate on toasts), chickpea and farro soup, trippa al basilico (tripe with basil in tomato sauce) and coniglio 'braico'... More

This was the best grilled chicken I have personally had out of the 5 years I have lived in Italy. It is not in the center so it wasn't crowded but it is definitely walking distance (5 mins) and worth it. Decent prices too.

The location of this restaurant is ideal for anyone on their way to or from Piazza Michelangelo. We were on our way to see the sun set one fine night, the clouds for that evening having shed their rain in the late afternoon, and having moved on to the east to make room for the sun to drop and show... Happened upon this restaurant on our way back from a breathtaking sunset on the steps of the Piazza Michelangelo. Although it was busy, our family of 5 was seated promptly at a table inside. Our gregarious waiter immediately supplied us with a basket of bread and requisite olive oil, balsamic vinegar and water. Our order was taken in a timely... More

Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
