We visited this restaurant recently, it was busy at the time but the waiter managed to seat us, the atmosphere was great, my first friendly introduction to Italy, the food was magnificent , was sad I couldn't eat more!!!, I cannot fault this place, wish I could go back :)

After getting this indication from a local I read the reviews and had to try their fiorentina stake.... It is better than any possible description!! Perfectly cooked, full of flavour, huge portions for two or three at least (over 1 kilo before cooking). Must try. Before that we had fried brains (delicious), fried coccoli (typical florentian fried "air" bread), charcuterie.... More

we ate here our first night in Florence. the place is small, resulting in you sitting cheek by jowl with all the other customers. it was populated by all italians on this night, which was interesting. We had indifferent pasta, and the bistecca fiorentina was riddled with tendons (so not the best cut), although the flavor was good. a side... More

You MUST try the Bistecca alla Florentina - perfect experience. Ask for red home wine and enjoy. You should come at 19:30 sharp to get a table - place is overbooked

The wait staff seated us immediately and explained the menu thoroughly in English. The food came out surprisingly good and fast. The tomato garlic and bread Pomodoro was up there with the best I've ever had the pleasure to taste. And the steak was delicious and like most steaks in this area very impressive in size. The only thing to... More

That's where the locals go! A great place to have a dinner...you might wanna call ahead! Great food, menu in Italian...but who needs English when waiters are great at explaining what is what! One of the best meals we had while visiting Florence.... I say the best Florentine steak we had while in Florence))) Oh...and pasta...yami! Go, enjoy your dinner!

Local place. Off the beaten path, though easily within walking distance of the Ponte Vecchio. Fantastic bistecca, wonderful atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Make reservations -- it's small, and popular. We got there when it opened (19:30) and by the time we left there was a line to get in. If your time is limited in Florence, and you're agonizing over making... More

Readers... this place is phenomenal! The menu is completely in Italian but the server is kind enough to go through everything with you. My husband and I started with prosciutto, coccoli e stracchino (lightly fried dough with meat and soft cheese-pictured below). Then, we had a bowl of the primo del giorno, which was paperdelle pasta with rabbit mixed in... More

Recommended to us by our Airbnb host as a local 'institution' for its massive steak (bistecca fierenze). A real massive piece of meat that's seasoned beautifully. They recommend it for 2, but would happily serve 3 with sides. Comes very rare; which was beautiful for us. £35-40 (based on weight). Overall: steak plus 2 sides, a small carafe of wine... More
