I came to Florence for a month. Of course everyone had the "best" place to go in Florence. I was fortunate to know someone who lived here and they took us to Natalino. Every dish is good or better than any of the must go to restaurants. Their pear gorgonzola specialty is just fabulous. We have been each week and... More

Pear and Gorgonzola pasta. Best pasta I think I've ever eaten. Delicious food all round and well chosen wine by the waiter. Relaxed atmosphere. We dressed up but there were also more casual diners there. Nothing ostentatious about it. Clean, smart and traditional. Lovely big mural in the wall at the back. Definitely recommend to friends.

We chose Natalino for our first dinner in Florence based largely on reviews from this site, and were not disappointed. The pear and gorgonzola filled pasta was the best dish I had anywhere in Italy on the entire trip. I would go so far as to say that it was the best executed filled pasta dish I have ever had... We stumbled upon this place early on a Sunday afternoon. We were greeted warmly, and received very good service. The house red wine was good as was the antipasta. My husband had wonderful tortellini and I had a delicious risotto. These were simple dishes, well prepared, and served in a professional manner. The prices were very reasonable. We also enjoyed... I'm a college student who has been living in Florence since September of last year and I believe that this restaurant is one of the best in the city. The service is amazing and so is the food. Truly authentic toscan dishes. Not only do they have a restaurant but right across from it is their really delicious panino shop.... More

The best meal we've had in Italy so far. So good we went back the next night. The food was outstanding, the service warm and friendly and so cheap. One of the highlights of our trip.

First day in Florence, fresh off the train from Rome. After a long day of walking, the three of us were hungry and wanted something filling and comforting. When we walked into the restaurant we were welcomed with smiles and a glass of champagne. We started with Tagiltelle Carciofi, Zucinni Antipasti and Shared the Bisteca for 3. Our waitress suggested... More

I absolutely adore this place. I have lived in Italy for over 4 years and I always return to this homey trattoria on Borgo degli Albizi. It is family run so the atmosphere is very quaint, yet since it was renovated last year carries an air of romanticism. I typically have the home made pear stuffed pasta with gorgonzola (home... I actually visited this restaurant on my first trip to Florence 4 years ago and have not been able to forget the pear pasta with gorgonzola sauce. I returned to Florence 2 years ago and was unable to find the restaurant this time. The first time I was taken their by my Italian cousin who was not with us. However,... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
