We had an absolutely blast dinner last night at Gargani. Pretty much we just had 2 things: prosciutto & melon for starters followed by a humongous steak with some asparagus. The steak was amazing. We had arrived a few minutes early and the manager greeted us with champaign and accommodated is shortly. The place has a cool decoration with owner... More

The menu was diverse, offering many options for guests and tithe service was wonderful. I had a salad with avocados and hearts of palm and veal with an avocado cream sauce. Although the sauce was delicious, it was very heavy and there was too much of it. My husband had onions stuffed with Parmesan cheese and veal with mushrooms. Both... More

Fantastic setting with the original owner having covered the walls of the entire restaurant with his own colourful paintings! Great service, extremely friendly Great food. At more the 80 euros a head, somewhat steep.

The staff was attentive and friendly, and the food was amazing. I have some dietary restrictions and they made me something for me that wasn't on the menu! I had a yummy linguine with mushrooms. :)

Our hotel recommended this one. The english reviews were not so good but the italian ones were excellent so we knew it was tops. Many tourists cannot deal with such superb cuisine if they are not used to it but when the italians pile in and love it, there is where I go. Firstly, the wine was unbelievable and they... More

Went on the recommendation of our hotel on our last evening in Florence...most expensive and most disappointing of our meals. Heavy on cream light on flavor. Four of us ordered different entrees plus two sides and none of it was very impressive. Also only restaurant we visited to charge a service fee. Skip it, way better options in Florence.

At recent visit two of us has pasta and one had steak and potatoes. Pasta was the right choice - I had pasta with cream and citrus. It was delicious - mint and orange zest gave a freshness to what could have been a heavy sauce. The only disappointment was the steak and potatoes. The steak was not well seasoned... More

We were staying in the hotel opposite and thus came reccommended, plus seemed popular as always busy. They accommodated us with no booking and we only had to wait 10minutes. The menu was very good and the food rich and flavoursome, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, even though the service was a bit haphazard- busy lead to mistakes, but nothing... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
