Gozzi is a marvelous "old-school" Florentine eating establishment! I have eaten here many, many times. I have never had a bad meal at Gozzi! Most recently, the peposo I ordered was out of this world! The beans and fried potatoes were also done to perfection. I particularly like the fish on Fridays. The service is very prompt, but the waiters... More

Reservation possible until 1pm, If you go after, like us, you gotta wait a bit... but it is totally worth it!!! We took the famous FIORENTINA, don't get scared, it is 1kg of pure heaven! I admit we ate it in 2persons. Simple place, simple nice and traditional cuisine... and in the very center of Florence!

This place was recommended by our hotel and they also made the reservation. The place was full. When we arrived we saw people waiting near the door, but we just went in. We had the 1 kilo (32oz) T Bone, the Best that I ever had. There were lots of locals and very few tourists. After the bistecca we just... More

Came here on a recommendation from other travelers we met and it didn't disappoint. It's not like the usual tourist spots, it's where locals go and everything is in Italian. Food is delicious and we only had to wait ten minutes to get a table. This place serves very heavy, home cooked meals, no pizza or light meals so be... More

Heard rave reviews on another forum and made a reservation for lunch and did not disappoint. Located close to the Duomo in san Lorenzo Piazza and 3 min from our hotel, service was prompt, our waitress explained the dishes and even made a vegetarian ravioli for my wife. The food was amazing and I highly recommend this restaurant.

A friend recommended the place, he loved it, by the way. It was busy and filled with locals so it's not bad, but I can't say I liked it. It looked fresh, homemade food, not bad, but not great either, probably if you eat meat it s even better, but for me the bottom line is would I go back?... More

We ordered 2 ravioli with meat sauce, 1 traditional Tuscan bean soup (Ribollita) and 1 lampredotto (Cow's 4t stomach - different from tripe or a.k.a trippa). The ravioli were not bad. The bean soup was flavorful. Tasted like it had been stewed for a long time. The lampredotto was excellent and i highly recommend it. They are only open for... More

Peposo, spinaci, vino, kindness and much love. This Trattoria was recommended by staff at my hotel in Rome. Thank goodness for the tip! I did not have a reservation but only waited about 10 minutes for a table. It's not easy to dine alone in Italy, their culture celebrates the sharing of food. I understand this, but it's unavoidable when... More

I have eaten a great deal of Italian cuisine and this is the genuine flavour of family food. The exterior decor and underwhelming and the interior is simple. The focus is the real food. Good prices and fantastic flavours. Book as it is busy and only open for lunches.
