Great lunch. I think it's a good idea to get here early to get full dessert selection. I ate here last time I was in Florence 8 years ago, at the end of the lunch sitting and some desserts had run out. So today we came early, after a great meal we had a fresh panacotta and meranges with strawberry... More

I was really excited to try Casalinga given its great reputation among locals. Unfortunately, I found that the food didn’t really stand out and the staff catered to tourists a bit more than I had hoped. They were very focused on quick turnover. The waiter came to take my order as soon as I sat down and my tortelli arrived... More

Good solid Italian home cooking. Friendly service. In fact we went twice. Very affordable. The food is so good that we went for the whole Monty, antipasto, prime piatti, secundo piatti and dolci. Portions are generous, so you will gain some weight!!! Their house wine is also very palatable. The owner runs the shout the entrance, ask for a table... More

My husband and I were recommended this restaurant by our AirBnB host. The restaurant itself beautiful, clean and welcoming! We were looking for a spot for a great lunch in "Old Florence" and we were not disappointed! Our server was knowledgeable and made very good recommendations. The artichoke salad came with a delicious layer of Parmigiano. The rabbit ravioli was... More

Even though the Casalinga is located within steps of the Pitti Palace and the Piazza Spirito Santo (and so surrounded by international tourists), a majority of those dining yesterday evening were Italian. The place is bustling--that's an understatement! We got there just in time to have a table (just shortly before 8 PM) and while we were there every talble... More

My friend and I ate here for dinner quite by chance. It is our first meal in Florence. We do not speak Italian it did not understand the menu very well. with the help of the very nice waitress, I ordered a piece of deep fried chicken breast with tomatoes on top. A plate of spaghetti. My friend had a... More

This is a good place to eat local cuisine at a very cheap price. However, there are many better places to dine and get the same local experience. Spend a couple more Euro and eat at another restaurant. Plenty to choose from.

I cannot comment on the food of this restaurant. That is because when myself and my partner went in to the restaurant we were told to wait 10 minutes and then completely ignored for almost an hour whilst watching couple by couple, group by group get seated and receiving dirty looks by the staff. I am more annoyed at myself... More

My second meal at this local restaurant with great local cuisine at very reasonable prices. Five of us ate multiple courses there with three bottles of wine and the bill was under $200. The food and service was great and the local atmosphere added to the evening. Will definitely return.

I was looking for a cheap lunch and a friend suggested me this restaurant... actually it was! I spent 14€ for a dish of "pasta al ragù di cinghiale" and a 66cl beer. Everything was good, but definitely not expecial: it's a very homemade cuisine, with some very friendly waiters (ps: ask them for suggestions, it's worth).
