If you want to try authentic Italian food then I suggest you eat here. The food is unlike the main restaurants where all the tourists go. I had the cheese and pear pasta it was divine!!! The menu consists of lots of authentic Italian dishes and they are cooked to perfection... really enjoyed my meal here!!

Stumbled across this place after a long day in Florence - food was excellent - very authentic and the family who run it were very helpful with suggestions. The food was seasonal and fresh - I had a wonderful tomato stew (papa al pomodoro) very typical of the region. Others had risotto and steak (which was excellent). Very reasonably priced.... More

My husband loves food and was keen to try this restaurant that appeared positively reviewed on Trip Advisor. Big mistake. We get there, are the only ones there. The waiter takes time to get our order, the male server (assume owner) coughs into his hand and then moves bread from one basket into another and brings to our table. The... More

After disappointment from Italian food, we asked from our hotel for a recommendation of a good Italian restaurant. They directed us straight to Toscano. I must say it was the best pasta I ate in Italy. The prices are also very fair, the service is great and the place is quiet and pleasant. We recommend it! :)

We went there with a group. Taken by an Italian guide who accompanied our tour in Italy. It was a marvelous surprise. The local antipasti was delicious. The real surprise was a wonderful kind of soup - ribolita. You must try it. Also a local dish called peposo - delicious beef stew. All this with a very good red house... More

The passion and the care of both owner (cuoco) and daughter make the difference. The "sughi" for the pasta are the best you can find in Florence and would be worth the detour.

If you're gluten free then a trip to Florence is incomplete without visiting this restaurant. There are many options and they're all delicious. Camilla and colleagues will take good care of you. Most fresh buffalo mozzarella I've ever had. The pasta with bacon knocked our socks off. The fried chicken dish is to die for and I figured this out... More

We were at the market, searching for some gluten free options. Unfortunately, the lovely looking upstairs food court provided no options for us. We discovered online a nearby restaurant that "specializes" in GF food. We were there at lunch time. It was quiet. The proprietress was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my eggplant parmigiana, which is more like the rolotini... More
