The tripe in tomato sauce was superb. With a mixed salad and half a litre of house white I am sated! Highly rated and will return.

We were looking for something less «touristic» than most places around and found this gem of an eatery. Here we got all we needed and more; good location, very helful staff and excellent dishes that we deem truly authentic. We spent 2 evening with my...wife and I sharing all dishes we ordered, i.e. we tasted a few things. On top of my list was the onions stuffed with cheese, the Pappardelle and something «simple» but so tasty; Pici cacio e pepe. The service deserves a compliment; young, energetic and knowledgeable waiters - smiling! High marks!More

We visited as part of an organised food tour. The service was excellent and the food beautiful. We were served lots of wine as part of the tour for no additional cost. Fabulous value for money. Thank you.

We spent one week in Firenze. We are at San’Agostino three times because we just couldn’t get enough!! Great Tuscan classics—the penne salsiccia was delicious—but also some interesting additions. I personally could have and would have (and sort of attempted to) eaten several gallons of...their onion soup, even though it was 90 degrees out! Cute inside setting, tasty wine list, super nice and friendly service. A gem in the oltrarno, if you’re sightseeing in Santo Spirito or at palazzo Pitti just walk a couple blocks off the main squares to treat yourself here!More

It's in the Santo Spirito area which is great, and off the tourist beaten track a bit. This place cooks what Tuscans eat, not what we of other nationalities imagine Italian food to be. We started with Pecorino stuffed onions which just melt in your...mouth. We then tried traditional ribollita as well as what they call Antic Tuscan soup, ribollita like but with polenta and pork jowls. Both excellent. We then moved to tagliatelle with a boar rag and penne with beef rags, both excellent as well. We finished with Zucotto "a typical Florentine dessert", which would not be our favorite dessert, but we loved the chance to try it their way. Ambience was great, service was great, and food was great. We would definitely return.More

I had a three course dinner. Antipasto, pasta and secondo piatti. Only thing that was okay was the pici (which everyone in the region can cook blindfolded). Antipasto would have been better from a butcher, clumsy, messy and thick slices of cold cuts. The Pici...was midiocre but the main (stewed boar) was dry and without any character. The wine, Brunello Terre Nere from 2016 was not yet open and had no character, which one would assume at 55 euro. Staff was al right, but not personal. The place was packed with loud, young tourists. The bill was added extras. No sorries was given when detected. No wonder NO locals go to this place. Luckily there are far better trattorias near by. You´ll never see me again.More

Upon recommendation of our hotel we made reservations at this local trattoria across the Arno from the hustle of the touristy crowds. The menu is not very big but I believe it has a little something for anyone. We split the sage & butter gnudi...which was so delicate & delightful. We ordered the chicken & the osso buco which were ample portions & equally tasty. We also ordered a bottle of their house Chianti which was perfect with dinner. The small restaurant and attentive staff were a delight & we overall enjoyed our dinner.More

Trattoria recommended by our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. We were glad we did. We first ordered the cheese stuffed onion and it was very flavorful. I next got the wild boar stew and what an amazing dish and sauce. I...highly recommend it. All the food was excellent. The service was friendly and perfect. We sat outside on the street so was a bit noisy. I would sit inside the open door next time. The prices were very reasonable.More

When visiting, I was met by a very kind and smiling waitress, who "walked me through" the menu and and answered as well as explained every question I had. The food was hearty and definitely a true tuscan food experience, which I had the joy...of sharing with random florentines who dined there as well. I will definitely visit again.More

As the restaurant is in the city center and with a lot of people stopping by, owner seems not to care at all of taking care of the clients. The number of people that we saw asking for a table and being told the restaurant...was full, for then giving the first available table to someone else just be lucky enough to ask at the right moment was huge. Waiters were all very nice and some dish were good. The onion soap on the other hand had no taste and the steak tartare ordered was full of anchovies (not mentioned in the menu). When I return the plate as I cannot eat fish, I wasn’t offered to change the plate or to have it prepared with no anchovies and this was charged full. Just had the feeling that as we are tourist they don’t care at all..More

We ordered a simple Spaghetti alla carrettiera. After a good 2” minutes we got half orders. I told the manager and asked why we got half orders. He said I should have told him sooner. A bit disappointed. They used to a very good restaurant...for a quick bit and great burger. Was not the case yesterday.More

Walking our old neighborhood to this wonderful typical Italian Trattoria on the corner of via Maffia. The staff are great gentlemen who truly care about their food and service. The food is very good and reasonably priced. Menu is in Italian as it should be...your in a lovely traditional/authentic part of ItalyMore

We had a quick lunch while looking for an affordable florentine styled restaurant. This is the perfect place! We found out only after ordering that the place was about to close (it was pretty late), yet the staff never put any kind of pressure on...us. We had a portion of pappardelle al cinchiale and a portion of raviolis with burrata-based sauce. Both options are highly recommended, as they were really delicious. If you are very hungry I would suggest to order a second course as well, the prices are anyway very affordable.More
