I was born in Peru but my father was Italian. I grew up between Florence and Lima. Every time I go to Marione is like eating food cooked at home! I have been coming yo this restaurant for more than 25 years and still is the best real Tuscan cooking that I can get!!! Some trips I only have lunch... More

I'm going to repeat myself now and in that I'm not gone on Italian food. We like our food earthy with not too many frills. This evening was our first time in a Trattoria and were bought. We queued outside this restraunt not knowing what to expect. With the rush in we went straight for a two seat table. As... More

My wife and I had the bistecca and it was without doubt the best steak I've ever tasted, the service and surroundings was brilliant and delicious wine too.

It is a small Trattoria, looks family run... very crowded. Food is super good, very home like, maybe typical Florence style. Again the menu is handwritten in Italian but the waiter was helpful to recommend their special... so it is the Dry Vegetable Soup. It is like minced vegetable in mash potatoes, so did not look delicious when was served... More

With traditional decor that looks like it just evolved, unpretentious but tasty food and unflappable staff, this little restaurant is everything you want a Florence eatery to be. It caters for all types -- from groups of tourists, to local families, to single diners who seem to be regulars -- and all appear to leave happy. The plates of pasta... More

The food is great. The staff is very friendly. There is usually a wait for a table for dinner so go for lunch and early dinner. I have gone more than once during my stay in Florence so I would recommend it

Great food here and a really good atmosphere. But it is busy, crowded, tables are close together and it's not calm, quiet or romantic. But me and my daughter had a great meal here and loved the food

We were recommend by our hotel to eat here. We tried to book but were told just to show up. When we did around 8:45 it was very busy so you put your name down and wait. We waited about 20 mins but have to say it was worth the wait. Typical Italian food served simply and very tasty. I... More

Busy, simple restaurant. Lovely setting dough, located in the very center of Florence, which is perfect! Locals come here too, in hordes, so make a reservation if you are in for a quick, good Italian meal.

Thank Stefan H

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
