we have been to this restaurant numerous times over the last ten years...We were so disappointed in the service, and the quality of the food. My husband is Italian...so not the tourist attitude...just trying to turn over tables fast, as there was a line at the door...This is not your never grow old at the dinner table Italian!!! With so... This place was suggested to us by our Airbnb hostess and it did not disappoint! It was only a block away from our place now I wish we would have eaten there more. Our waiter Al was simply fabulous: polite, professional, attentive. He gave good advice on the menu and we had a great experience. The atmosphere is more traditional... More

Amazing food, great value. Me and my dad had pasta to start with, then pork meat with vegetables, followed by tiramisu. I can't recommend the tiramisu more! Delicious food and great service :)

The food and service were so good we ate here both of our nights in Florence. I had the papparadelle with wild boar ragu and my husband had the boar steak - both delicious. The tiramisu should not be missed. As good as the food is, the ambience is even better and Al - our server was so warm and... More

We went here on a recommendation and really enjoyed it. My husband and I both had something different, chicken and veal, and it was great. We could have split it. The lemon sorbet was a perfect way to end the meal. Make a reservation.

We choose this restaurant due to its proximity to our AirBNB. Our experience was outstanding! Our server, Al, attended to our every need and provided great recommendations for our meals. We enjoyed the veal and potatoes, roast pork, pappardelle al ragu di cinghale, and tagliatelle with pesto. All were great, but the cinghale ragu was especially excellent. Our waiter also... More

Good welcome and a nice dining room but disappointing cooking. The food could have been much warmer, especially given how close the kitchen was. The onion tart was a started I really liked but be warned it is basically a type of bechamel sauce which may not be to everybodies taste. It is a bit off the beaten track and... More

We had booked another restaurant for the night but after a strenuous day around Florence we needs to eat and this place was close to the hotel and was busy, but you can be deceived. So we ordered from the extensive menu a Chicken diablo Wild boar with vegetables So apart from the shoddy service and being seated on top... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant in the Oltrano so we thought we would give it a try. The place was packed with locals. We ordered several items on the menu and it was all very good, but mostly we loved the meaty entrees and atmosphere. We will definitely return!

I first came upon the Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco while walking the streets of Oltrarno in 2004. The name and store front intrigued me as did the interior architecture of the old tower in which the osteria rests. The pappardelle al ragu di cinghiale, a ribbon pasta with wild boar ragu, and the strozzapreti a burro, literally 'priest stranglers', stuffed dumplings,... Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
