I always get the pistachio and then rotate through my other faves: yogurt (tangy deliciousness), buontalenti (complex cream) and a fruit (bosco di frutta or coconut or mango or raspberry, etc). I always get a cup because I can't eat fast enuff when it is a cone (the gelato will drip everywhere). Also, the branch near the Ponte Vecchio is a bit cheaper than the one near the Duomo and always offers a very fresh round cracker with your order.

Hands down this is the best Handmade Gelato shop in Florence. We rented an apartment across the street from the shop from the 10-22 March 2024 through Apartments Florence (Extraordinary property manager btw) and our front door was literally 20 steps from La Strega's door…it was dangerous, but we did it anyway.
We became spellbound by this place! Every night we would wander over and be greeted by Florence (Flo), who we affectionately called the Owner. She is a young, pretty and a genuinely kind person who serves gelato to guests with a smile, no matter what. Don’t see that kind of service in the States much!
Flo’s favorite flavor is Lavendar. It took a lot for me to try it, because I don’t like to change flavors but I did, and it was scrumptuous! As is their coconut, crema (Vanilla) and their strawberry sorbet-like flavor. You can tell the ingredients they use are fresh and good quality.
If you go there, and see Flo, tell her that her US Mom Deni :) and her sisters Pam and Andi, sent you. She’s really that cool!
Just a great place all around.

What a beautiful Florence, how beautiful the combination of modern and traditional, but fantastic is the "La Strega Nocciola" ice cream shop. You enter and breathe a sweet, welcoming air like the service of the staff.
The variety of flavors and their uniqueness makes you want to come back again and try something new. Here you have the opportunity to taste combinations never tried before, flavors unknown and foreign to the palate.
We are used to the usual, the simple and the common, but "La Strega Nocciola" offers you a journey that starts from Florence and takes you around the whole world.

Small place a few steps from the Duomo. Tastes in steel baskets, a rarity in the hyper tourist commercial offer of the center, where the locals abound with mountains of tastes exposed to full display, phantasmagorical colors, where fruit and natural ingredients are an authentic mirage. Tasted three flavors: hazelnut, buontalenti and lavender. Excellent the first, very good the second, discreet, but not memorable, the third, for the little intense aroma. Ice cream, however, pleasantly creamy. Highly recommended, average prices and commensurate with quality.

Wonderful (small-chain? we saw a couple more wandering Florence...) gelato shop between the Duomo and Accademia - well worth a stop! All of the gelati are kept at the perfect temperature and the gentlemen who was there the day we visited was helpful in answering our questions (such as "why is the gelato covered - we haven't seen that before"). Certainly a delightful treat. Their pistaccio and fragola were very, very delicious.

An ice cream parlor that offers a rather limited range of flavors (not exactly negative as far as I'm concerned), but all of good quality, which denotes a right and wise will to research selected and genuine ingredients. Excellent the unusual lavender taste, of which I hesitated to choose, but which in the end got a worthy ransom. Average prices.

The gelato was great. I had nocciola and fragola, both tasted really good so I think they can do both creamy type gelato and fruit flavours gelato well. It was a quiet street leading right to the Duomo and you can catch a glimpse to the Duomo from their bench outside so it was lovely.

We found it by change near Ponto Vechio, excellent choice for a gelatto. La strega nocciola flavour is ”the thing”, but also straciatella or the fruity ones are excelent choices. The prices start from 3 euro-2 scoops, 4 euro-3 scoops. Staff is very friendly.

On the tour of visiting Ponte Vecchio it is worth taking a few steps to look for this ice cream shop which stands out among the many in the area. Exquisite ice cream, in particular hazelnut and pistachio made with quality materials and without the use of colorings that are seen in the ice cream shops next door to attract the customers' eyes. There are some stools inside where you can sit while enjoying the ice cream. It's really worth coming!!

I had DELICIOUS gelato with my roommate today at La Strega Nocciola. The shop was delightful and unique just like their gelato! They had a beautiful and eclectic variety of flavors, so it was hard to choose which ones I wanted. I decided on the Maya dark chocolate and strawberry. All I could say was wow. It was one of the best and most interesting flavor combinations I’ve ever had. The Maya chocolate was rich and spicy because of the red pepper flakes and the strawberry was fresh and creamy with a sweet tang. I also ended up trying my roommates scoop of lavender which was a perfect balance of floral sweetness. So far in Florence I’ve never met a gelato that I haven’t liked, but in my opinion you should definitely get acquainted with La Strega Nocciola.

I really enjoyed the pistacchio gelato, I strongly recommend! One of the best I've had! A plus for me is always when staff will keep answering me in Italian when I make the effort to speak Italian even though my accent is not the best!

Like others, we came upon La Strega Nocciola while heading from the Trevi Fountain to the Spanish Steps, and I was blown away. I had a mix of basil, dark chocolate, and pineapple gelato, and all were superb (the basil was especially good!) I was also able to eat a good portion of my daughter's mix of hazelnut, chocolate and mascarpone. Fantastic quality and good service (from a very good looking person behind the counter)!

We tried several gelaterias while in Florence, and they were all very good, but this one stood out to me. Very creamy and flavorful. Some places try to fool you with fancy displays of their gelatos. This place is so good they don't even show you their gelatos. They keep them covered in what looks like more of a sealed freezer contraption, so you know it must be good!

Best gelato in Italy!. We originally found this gelato store 9 years ago and were thrilled to discover they were still there on our recent trip. There is no need to go anywhere else for gelato. Best of the best!

The gelato was good, the pistachio was really creamy and made with real pistachios. Also, the white chocolate and cinnamon was really creamy and delicious. The dark chocolate was really chocolate but not as creamy so to taste the best I’d suggest one of the other two flavors. Great little shop with quality ingredients.
