My boyfriend and I are always looking to try new wines but sometimes our palette has expensive taste. This awesome little joint lets you buy a good portion (6oz ish) glass of the mid-high priced wines. Unlike other enoteccas in the area, they sell every tasting item on the menu in bottles. So if you like something, you can take... More

Definitely was one of the places we tried during our stay in Florence, it's 100% authentic Italian food with fresh ingredients and flavors, their wine list it's exquisite. I'm craving their food now, definitely planning to go back one day.

So glad we hunted this place down, don't be fooled by its unassuming facade, the antipasto cheese platter is divine the best I've had with some really good wine as well (vouvray 96 white).

I stopped in because Fox&Grapes is off the main path where the locals are. Tried a cheese tasting platter, and it was awesome: soft cheeses, hard cheeses, olives, tomatoes, bread. The meat platter looked good too. Friendly and helpful staff had suggestions for food and wine based on our tastes. They seem to know their stuff. Great meal.

Lovely service in a good location with DELISH food! The meats, cheeses & salad were all spot on & the wine recommendation was excellent. The waitress was fabulous for assisting on the menu! I wish we had more time to sit & nosh!

Cannot highly recommend this place enough. All Wines just fab, staff very friendly and great advice on Wine choices and cheese/ meat/ bread to accompany. Very reasonable cost, could have spent all day, evening and night there, wines just superb, a taste of the real authentic Italy. Florence totally exceeded my expectations as we normally prefer smaller villages but we... More

I read that at Le Volpi E L'Uva (Fox and Grape) you can taste the wines before buying by the bottle. It is hit and miss buying bottles in a regular shop because the variety of Italian wines is huge. We were staying in Florence for the month of May and on our second day we visited them for the... More

Ilaria (not sure about her spelling) is an extraordinary hostess (not in the seating way, but as in making you feel welcome) We were interested in wine tasting and she discussed our preferences and created an unforgettable 4 flight tasting for us. I wished that I'd also saved my appetite because the plates around us were especially appealing and everyone... More

A great small place. A lot of nice wines, in true Italian style by the glass or bottle. The food is simple, but the taste is brilliant, real Italian food for small prices. If more than 2-3 people, reserve in advance, it's a small place.

Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
