The restaurant is located in an old cellar. You can really feel the atmosphere from old times. Good original homemade food, with local products and wines of high quality. The wine list it self is magnificent, only the best wines will find a way to this restaurant. You will get the owners passion for food and wine, served on a... More

We were lucky enough to eat here with a group during the molesini wine evening. The food was superb- the guinea fowl ravioli was AMAZING!

We were with a wedding party who participated in the wine tasting at Enotecca Molesini in Piazza della Repubblica before dinner. Marco let us taste Amore E Follia, Amore E Magia, Lupi E Sirene and Bonsai from the vineyards of Podere le Ripi. A 5 course dinner followed at Taverna Pane e Vino paired with the wines we tasted. The... More

Went there on the evening of August 14 and u fortunately there was a very noisy djset in the main square that ruined a bit our experience. However thanks to the caring service we managed to enjoy our dinner anyways. We tried different mix of salami and cheese as well as a selection of crostoni (really good)! My boyfriend tried... More

We stopped at this restaurant on a hot day after a visit to the Etruscan museum. The interior was mercifully cool and the decor rustic with some clever and quirky twists. The service, though not overly friendly was very efficient. The food good and solid Tuscan fare, with light dishes for snacks or heart pastas for bigger appetites. A very... More

Over many years and many visits we must by now have tried almost every eatery in Cortona, but this is the one we keep going back to. Food and wine with real passion, always something different and interesting, and lots of traditional local dishes to try.

Family dinner out during one week holiday in Cortona. Outside tables busy but managed to get a table inside. Service slow - 2 other tables left before being served whilst we were in, but seriously you are in holiday it's time to relax & not be rushed. Food was delicious - had a lovely mackerel salad & husband had a... More

We stopped in the lovely Cortona just to have a cup of coffee and ended up having lunch as well. Taverna Pane e Vino is one of two Cortona places featured in the Osterie d'Italia guide which is seldom wrong when recommending a place with good food. All the dishes were good (a place with bad food probably has a... More

Prompt and efficient service of local specialties. Very informal, and good for the times you want good food but something simple--as its name implies.

I have visited this place on multiple occasion and have always been happy. Wether it was ofr just a soup and glass of wine at lunch or full dinner with amici. Original but classic food, very good ingredients, prepared well. Wine list is superb which is not strange at all if one knows that the owner Arnaldo is a producer... More
