The food, wine, and service was superb. The staff were most helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.

This place is so awesome! We enjoyed our meals so much that after dessert, we ordered another entree because it was so good! The Fettuccine with Chianina sauce in white and fried sage was our favorite. (The one we ordered twice!) Still savor that menu...and dishes. Don't miss out on this place. Make reservation ahead of time.More

We really enjoyed the authentic interior at La Loggetta. It was raining the night of our reservation so sitting outside wasn't possible but the outdoor seating did have a very nice elevated view of the piazza. The food was okay but we would go back...for the ambiance.More

Have visited at least 4 times in 5 times in 2-3 years. Always brilliantly consistent food, drink & service. Restaurants superpower is the menu isn’t that extensive, and doesn’t change all that frequently. Leads to great quality & consistent service.

Excellent food on a beautiful patio in the center square. Probably the best gnocchi I have ever tasted. Prices were quite reasonable.

La Loggetta Suggested by the hotel porter. I should have listened to the “alarm” bells. Tourists are welcome so they can be ripped off. Let’s start with the booking. “Sorry we can’t find your reservation.” With my last name in this country that is highly...unlikely. The reason being that my last name is atypical because it’s “foreign” and I always have to spell it letter by letter. Now comes the seating. it was in a crowded room with loads of noisy patrons. It can happen but it’s not nice. Knowing where you are seating us a smart Maitre D will at least make …. The gesture of an apology. Not done by this band of dilettantes. Menus: the daily selections and the habitual fare. Unusual but can happen. An explanation would be nice. Not foreseen at La Loggetta. Wine. I asked for a glass because I don’t drink much. They had to call the “wine expert”. When he arrived he explained using the usual hype based on a collection of magazine excerpts how “truly wonderful” the “almost” San Giovese is. So he diligently pours a few drops in 2 glasses. The taste is ok. Not exceptional but Ok. But…..there wasn’t enough for 2 in the first bottle. So our genius opens a new bottle and directly fills the other glass. Any amateur knows that no 2 wine bottles are identical and that one bottle can be “good” and the next one of the same year and production can be corky. Professional wine expert? Not in this lifetime. First and second courses acceptable but neither exceptional nor abundant. As I said “tourists are welcome”. If you are more than a casual browsing tourist, Cortona can offer better for less. The servers are all generally unpleasant. We have heard that most of Tuscany does not “shine” for manners or a welcoming approach. The only “nice” server was a girl who based on her accent is from some eastern block country. She outshines her Italian colleagues just like the sun outshines the moon. She smiles. They scowl. One last thing: the restaurant manager (owner?). Fruit does does land far from the tree that it grew on. Scowling staff simply reflects a similar trait in their boss. You can’t really blame staff for adherence to their boss’s example. She should know better and be the first to say “good evening” when patrons are leaving. COVID was a nightmare for everyone. These people learned nothing from the months of unemployment, scarse patronage and general hardship.More

The food and service were outstanding! We had lunch and ordered the antipasto (tomato tartare, buffalo mozzarella, seasonal vegetables and basil pesto), duck and leek tortelli with pea drops and its sauce, sliced steak, french fries, and an amazing ice cream smothered with coffee. Everything...was so fresh, beautiful, and so delicious! All this for less than 70E for 2! The ambiance eating al fresco was also wonderful. Reservations are a must!More

We are in Cortona for a week. Although we have been to Cortona several times, we had not yet tried this restaurant. We went and they were able to fit us in without a reservation (but please make one). The food and service was absolutely...amazing! We had a variety of dishes and loved them all. It is now one of our “go to” places when in Cortona.More

Visited La Loggetta 25 years ago and enjoyed the experience so our expectations were high. We were not disappointed! Beautiful location overlooking the Piazza; an uncomplicated menu where our choices were expertly prepared and served; a comprehensive wine list; and very good service. Would highly...recommend.More

We came as a party of four and all absolutely loved this restaurant. The location is stunning, with an outside terrace that overlooks the main square. The staff are friendly and attentive, and they have a good knowledge of both the menu and wines. The...food was full of flavour and beautifully presented. We shared the truffle fondue to start. Very rich. Our main courses were ragu, lamb chops, steak and risotto. We were all very happy with our choices and sides. Only the one dessert for us, a coffee and chocolate mousse, with a shot of espresso. So light, and full of flavour. We were also pleasantly surprised by the bill. Thoroughly recommend.More

Absolutely horrific customer service. Will never return. Despite booking a nice terrace table one month in advance for visiting guests from London and phoning to confirm the table a week in advance, when we arrived our table was the worst on the terrace. Facing a...wall and the chairs on the opposite side of the table were in the way of passing service staff. When we asked if could have one of the better, empty tables we were told, 'a table is a table'. When I asked further for some assistance in resolving the matter, we were treated without any concern, in a very rude and condescending manner and in fact were told, 'you'd be better off elsewhere'. We were all shocked by the level of rudeness. Needless to say we did not stay for lunch and will never return or recommend this restaurant to our many visiting friends and family. I know this is a famous restaurant, largely due to its connection with the movie, 'Under The Tuscan Sun' but notoriety doesn't outweigh how your treat people. Rudeness never wins. I had read similar reviews but chose to ignore them and remain hopeful we would have a wonderful experience. Sadly, we did not.More
