This place was recommended by our B&B and was located very close by. Cute place but one guy on duty for the whole restaurant and a sense of urgency was definitely not going on. I had a reservation and had went to the counter to...check in. I was seated, my friend arrived and then we waited and waited. Tried to make eye contact with the guy and after about 15 minutes, we realized we could be dead of old age before we'd ever get served. Not rude, just completely inattentive. I realize the place was way understaffed but at least an acknowledgment of service at some point would have been sufficient. Don't recommend.More
We dined here twice during our 4 day visit to Taormina, and it was by far our favorite over other restaurants with higher reviews on TripAdvisor. The caponata was the best we have had in Sicily. Also had the fried calamari, Eggplant Parmigiana, Casarecce Norma...and Spaghetti Bolognese. All were perfectly done. The restaurant staff were friendly and sweet. Prices were very reasonable. The pizza was different to the many pizzas we have had during 25 years in Italy. The dough had a sweet taste.
Excellent food and good value for this expensive area. Traditional Sicilian food. We had the fixed price menu, both the meat and fish options were excellent value. Lovely waitress. Nice décor.
Lovely restaurant with a menu to suit everyone. My friend and I liked it so much we went back twice, and each dish was really good. The fish and seafood options were great, fresh and tasty, and the other options we had were also top...quality. We were in Taormina off-season, so many restaurants were closed; therefore, we thought we had to settle on Sa;pori di Mare. The food was excellent, the service perfect, and the prices quite reasonable. We chose a different restaurant our second night (too mediocre to review)...and returned to Sapori di Mare for our third night, which was even better. It doesn't look like much from the outside; give it a try and you'll likely be pleased.More
Went here for lunch on our day trip to Taormina. We were desperately trying to avoid overpriced tourist traps (of which there are many) and we were very happy to find this place. All of our food was delicious and the service was friendly. The...inside of the restaurant is very quaint. Overall, recommended for real Sicilian food at a fair price.More
Recommended by our guide, dinner at Sapori di Mare was absolutely fantastic! Small, quaint, family run on the main road just outside the city gates, it is obviously a local's favorite! Via our Taormina guide, our dinner was ordered ahead of time. Our 4 course...dinner was presented beautifully, fresh and flavorful, superb wines and attentive staff. Truly our best meal during the 5 days in Taormina! They also make pizzas which looked great. A must visit and reservations are suggested!More

Delicious fresh meals and fabulous service in a small friendly restaurant. Our table of 5 sampled a range of meals including minestrone, risotto, lasagne & scallopine al limone (which was amazing!) with a salad and everyone had cannoli. Very nice and cosy restaurant with good sicilian food. We had a sicilian antipasto, than different kinds of pasta and for main dish was fritto misto. Nice dinner place.
Fabulous seafood, and just the right level of service, we loved this quirky restaurant; visiting four nights out of our five in Taormina. We wished we'd made it five.
A pleasant menu of dishes including pizzas and seafood, pasta. Which are positives. Also the pleasant and professional behavior of the staff was pleasant. The negatives are, for example, the smaller sizes of the pizzas, the very expensive "house wine" but above all the charging...of a high couvert (8 euro) only for the brought miniature oschata with bread. The location of the garden on the sidewalk right next to a busy road is also a disadvantage.More
