We were told this was quite a special place and a one of a kind experience, we had our hotel make a booking, they said they didnt have reservations until two days later at 7pm... we took it. On the day of we showed up in time and were the only ones dining there for about an hour and a... More

So we stayed at the st domminco. When we found out there where a two starred micheline resturant we just had to check it out. So tried the 5 course with wine parring. This turnd out to be a bit more then just 5 :-) . So there is a dress code so suit up no shorts or flip-flops. The... More

If you are a foodie, this is likely to come across as rather poor value. The ravioli(ni) dish was overcooked. My wife ordered the steamed merluzzo- and received something more akin to fried tempura. The fish of the day- a grouper, was pretty decent. Some of the other things just didn't seem particularly fresh. The service was impeccable (especially the... More

I had messed up the reservation date, but they were very kind and gave us a table anyway. And it is a nice restaurent! But two stars? Highlights were the wine - and good service - the food was so so. You need to be into testing Michelin star restaurants to find good price / performance.

Location is great, seated outside overlooking the ocean. The restaurant is old and the food itself makes the experience dated. We went for the classic menu, but fried fish seems like a ridiculous way of destroying quality seafood. There are other resturants in the area which have higher quality food.

We were staying at San Domenico Palace and decided to eat here. We do not generally choose Michelin Star restaurants as they can be rather fussy and often not as good as one expects. The setting is stunning, the staff very friendly. When I booked I advised my dietary requirements which they confirmed. These had not been passed to the... More

Menu from the appetizers to the main dishes as well as the desserts simply great. Calamari superb. Champagne and Sicilian wines outstanding. The terrace marvelous. The hotel excellent. Really a place to stay in and to have dinner when in Taoramina

From start to finish this meal was perfect. The restaurant itself is tiny, but it has a nice cosy feel about it. We had a lovely corner table which was perfect for watching all the amazing food being taken to other tables to help us decide what we wanted! The staff are attentive but not intrusive. They're so polite and... More

Tasting menu with matched wines (all Sicilian). Supposedly four courses: delicate tomato-three-ways; carpaccio melon; prawns with oyster in watercress soup; spaghetti with truffles (plenty of those); scorpion fish; bread ice cream; deconstructed creme brûlée with small fruits; generous petits fours. Service attentive, discreet, well paced: this was a 3 hour treat. Scorpion fish perhaps underwhelming, highlight spaghetti perfectly truffled. Indeed... More
