Fantastic location high above the bay. Probably better for lunch or early dinner. Proficient cooking - and a nice chef we met him afterwards - good wine list. Steak was a bit too well done to be perfect but that aside all good. Nice change...More

Fantastic food, great local wine, warm and efficient service - and what a view! We spent 3 delightful evenings at Il Gabbiano in our one week stay at Mazzaro - enjoyed it so much.

This one is simple. GREAT location, GREAT staff, GREAT and fresh food (the seafood and pasta were outrageous!) and GREAT homemade honey treats. Just eat here, it's that simple!

I enjoyed my second meal of my visit here today, and will have one more tomorrow. The food isn’t loud, it is however delicious. I had the pasta with sardines today, and before, I had the Aubergine ravioli in creamy Parmesan sauce. Portion sizes are...More

As others have said, the views from here are spectacular and you clearly pay for this in the prices here which are as expensive as some of the best restaurants in the centre of Taormina. There was nothing bad about the food, but this was...More

We'd been to the beach, hiked the stairs back from Isola Bella, and as you get to the top of the 1000s of steps, there is Il Gabbiano - you walk past and can see the view, it was late lunch time when we visited...More

We had a lovely lunch. The view is spectacular. The service was excellent. We are mussels and clams as starter. Then ravioli and veal in lemon sauce as mains. Even managed puddings, followed by coffee and brandy. Best meal of holiday

I must admit, this restaurant served the best mixed shell fish dish I have ever had. It consisted of mussels, 2 different types of clams and oysters. The sauce was to die for! I do consider myself an expert on shellfish...lol. Lovely service, views and...More

Facing one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world, between the ancient ruins of the town of Taormina and the simple, yet enchanting beauty of the bay of Isola Bella, the restaurant Il Gabbiano enjoys an ideal position for observing these natural wonders. It is divided into three terraces overlooking the shimmering sea of Isola Bella Taormina. The Il Gabbiano restaurant offers the opportunity to spend some time in a "strip of paradise on earth". "Italy without Sicily leaves no image in the soul" and Taormina and Isola Bella, are the closest thing to this image of which Goethe said: "To have seen Italy without having seen Sicily is not to have seen Italy at all".
