I can’t even put into words how bad the customer service was at the restaurant. After we finished pizza, dirty plates stayed on our table for 1hr 15 mins, at which point I had to get up and ask for dessert menu. When I got...up again to ask for the bill, the waitress physical pushed my arm with aggression to put the bill in front of me They spent more time huddling in the corner laughing and chatting than attending to customers. Both girls working on night of 10th May where equally as rude. I would definitely not be going again, and would argue anyone who was considering this to reconsider!More

We dropped in for dinner, seduced by the good reviews. Big disappointment. Pizza crust soggy and underdone. Toppings ok, but without a decent crust might just as well ordered a bowl of toppings. Service so-so. Wished we had gone someplace else for pizza.

We asked to sit outside, which clearly annoyed the waiter as it was windy, but their room inside wasn't very pleasant / didn't feel like Taormina to us! We ordered two pizzas which arrived quickly. They were nor good nor bad. The waiter didn't bothered...coming back outside to ask if we wanted anything else so we just paid inside and left (when we initially wanted to order dessert). 31 euros for 2 pizzas and one bottle of water felt a bit pricey for this service and food quality. + they put awful music on their terrace, in addition to the ventilation of the kitchen coming out just next to the clients For this service, price and food quality we could have sat to one of the touristy place on a nice piazza, instead of going out in the smaller streets to find them...!More

We ordered Margerita ed era buonissima. Since we sat outside it went cold quite quickly but it was still very good. Nice cool place and there were a lot of people so it would be ideal to book or else wait to be served

The place where we stayed in Taormina recommended us to go to La Napoletana. I read the reviews on TripAdvisor before going there and thought we would be up for a treat. Specially after the best pizza we had in Cefalù during our trip to...Sicily, I had big expectations. We arrived at La Napoletana and honestly, the staff was sooooo unfriendly, unprofessional and couldn't care less. Not a smile, you get the menu and they come back 2 minutes later to take your order. I ordered what is...a very simple pizza: the 4 formaggi. You can't really miss it. Well...they did! It was like a cluster of gooey cheese all melted together, oily, like a big blurp that becomes all elastic after 5 minutes when the pizza gets cold. Talking about "plastic", the dough was very elastic and unpleasant. They rave about the produce they use on their menu but in reality, it all tastes like cheap ingredients. We ALL agreed that it was just terrible! In fact, we talked about how bad it is the whole time we were there! We ordered white wine. The waiter brought it, left it on the table without pouring it into our glasses and left. Again no smile and in a robotic way. He had NOTHING to do. Is that so difficult to attend your table in a proper way? Don't waste your time AND money at La Napoletana!More

Best pizzas we’ve had in ages. Really friendly service and really prompt. We were just shuffling a pack of cards thinking we would do a game whilst waiting for our meal - and the pizzas arrived even before we had time to start our game!...The little square is really charming (they are all in Taormina), away yet so close to the bustle of Umberto Corso.More

We did not even know that Villa Zuccaro and La Napoletana belonged together. But the taste is just as great. The dough a little softer and the edge perfectly risen. And again, Sicilian ingredients full of flavour. We especially loved the fried eggplants and the...semi dried tomatoes. Nice location a few steps from Corso Umberto. The staff is professional but could have been a little friendlier. Try with a smile next time :)More

Vegetarian pizza was excellent, and I added Nduja sausage which was so good. Great atmosphere and service as well. We were both happy with everything we ate.

We'd been to the sister pizzeria 'Villa Zuccaro' earlier in the week, and it was refreshing to see La Napoletana had its own character, including many different menu choices. Food: We had a starter which included fried pizza dough, a pesto and a quattro formaggi...pizza and a bottle of Etna rose wine. The fried pizza dough was a delight, the pizzas were of good quality, cooked perfectly and the wine to accompany was delightful, with the Sicilian rose being a little dryer on the palate. Service: The restaurant opened the inside area for us as the outside area was full. We arrived a little before peak time so it felt as though usually this would not have been available. The service was attentive and friendly.More

It’s a shame, the overall experience of the food was excellent. Pizza were cooked perfectly, but overall let down by a very low standard of service. It’s clear they are overwhelmed by the amount of diners, which you might expect one or two mistakes. However;...1, We were not seated to our table, but rather just pointed to, 2, Waited 15min just for a menu and then another 20min just to order drinks and food. ( found this slightly annoying as tried to get their attention but we were just ignored) 3, Our starters were given to a table next to us who called the waiter, the waiter then moved them to another table before taking notice of us waving to say it was ours. ( they did offer to re cook the croquettes) 4, Starters cleared, another round of drinks ordered (2 bottles of beer) 10min later pizza arrive and had to remind the waiter of the drinks. 5, Asking for the bill was easier! But after waiting another 15-20 to pay I just walked in and payed.More

Reservation was not possible, when we got there it was clear why - they want customers in and out as fast as possible. Our table was almost breaking down - it was very unstable and the surface was broken. They only have house wine -...do not recommend. There was as a mixup with orders, the do not have a good system for the tables - only the third pizza that arrived at the table was actually ours. The pizza itself is mediocre at best. The dough is not that good, everything was burned, but still the dough was kind of raw and you could not eat the pizza with your hands it was too wobbly. The mushrooms on my pizza were canned (no go in my opinion) and the other pizza was completely buried in rucola. Only thing good- pizzas arrived fast.More
