Da Cristina is a family operation with a focus on traditional Sicilian food, like home cooking served in a garden restaurant setting. We much enjoy the variety of food at very reasonable prices. At lunch or dinner things can be hectic, but nevertheless it is worth experiencing the setting. We love it and have come back many times during our 3 week stay. They serve wine and beer as well. Great spot. Give it a try.

Lovely little cafe. We had breakfast/lunch here on three occasions. They have a range of huge arancinis - we tried the pistachio, aubergine, ragu, anchovies which were all tasty and filling (and very good value). Nice spot for people watching in the morning. Would recommend for breakfast or lunch (other options include pizzas, pastries and other sicilian plates).

We had some problems to make an order because during our visit there was staff not speaking English (and not willing to help you). We managed to order two portions of carbonara. It looked kind of like canteen (self-service). We needed to wait about 15-20 mins for our food but that's not a problem. However, I think it was prepared too long because eggs were overcooked - it looked more like pasta with scrambled eggs than carbonara. On the bright side, it was tasty, the portion was huge and the price was decent.

I’ve eaten here many times and it never disappoints. They have a wide selection of food (pizzas, arancini etc) and the prices are very reasonable for Taormina. The arancinis are delicious and always fresh! Perfect place to go for lunch or a light bite for dinner.

Da Cristina is a great place for a quick snack or a simple dinner on a budget. Apart from pizza and arancini which they seem to be known for, they have a good selection of other dishes displayed at the counter, such as caponata, roast chicken, beef rolls etc. Overall food is great although I think their arancini could have been more crispy. They are located diagonally opposite Bam Bar so it’s convenient to pop over for a fresh granita after your meal here.

Best cheap bite in Taormina Well known as an expensive town in Da Cristina ARANCINI balls are the best. I do not recommend the pizza as it is average but the price is good 2,5 for ARANCINI and 2,5 for pizza too. I recommend the spinaci and melanzane ARANCINI

Below Piazza Duomo. Assortment of sliced pizza or arancini…, preference for schiacciata. A soft, heart-shaped bread, crispy on the outside and a homemade filling full of flavor. Take it away or enjoy it on the terrace.

Another must do in Taormina. And only come if you are hungry (really hungry - this is no light bite!). Take a number, don't go too far as the queue will move quickly, and pick from the window. Sadly if they don't have what you want you will have to wait or just do without but they replenish rapidly. Arancini is why you are here but the foccacia is fabulous as well. We had the pistacchio arancini and the ragu (missed the spinach which i hear is amazing!) Tough to get a seat so you might have to sit on the steps or eat and walk but a table usually opens up in a few minutes so don't despair. It isn't the end all be all of cuisine but you are here for one reason. So eat, eat some more and be merry.

It’s probably the best place to try arancini in Taormina, but they serve also pizza and panzerotti. Even locals go there, which is always a good sign. It’s a sort of takeaway place with few small tables and it gets crazy at meal times. We had to queue for 40 minutes. However, I must say it was worth it because the food was good and the price reasonable. I had arancini (a kind of rice balls) filled with aubergines and spinach and they were very tasty. Good choice, go there!

The pictures speak louder than my hungry belly. The aranchini are delicious, so is the focaccia. We had the ragu and spinach and ham/cheese aranchini and the mortadella and pistacchio focaccia. The thickness of the fried bit of the aranchini was perfect. Everything was delicious. The service is great and fast. The price is also good and cheap and you can take it as takeaway and eat it while you walk. Make sure you get enough napkins.

If you are looking for a quick lunch with a home-made touch this is the place. They offer a good selection of arancini as well as other traditional and simple Sicilian/Italian street food. Prices are reasonable and quality is there. They also have a few tables where you can sit and eat what you buy.

More of a takeout than a restaurant, though they're are a few tables in the alleyway outside. Just downhill from the piazza del duomo, tucked away, a buddy counter with ovens behind it. We had a pistachio and a Norma (eggplant) Aranchino, a bottle of water and a caponata for less than 15 euro. All very good the caponata had no tomato but plenty of raisins and pine nuts. Unusual but excellent. Wish I could have tried more aranchini flavors but they are quite filling. I heard others comment that the arancini were better than the pasta, but honestly I did not try it. Table turn quickly or walk down the hill for an ocean view from the road below.

They sell good rotisserie and pizza by the slice, at the right temperature, they also sell drinks, all at fair prices. Take the number and wait your turn. Few seats inside and outside, perhaps the only flaw. Clean toilets. However, to be in Taormina they charge affordable prices compared to other activities.

Arrived in Taormina looking for arancini, we came across this excellent rotisserie. Super recommended! The two of us had: three arancini, classic, spinach and aubergine (truly SPECTACULAR), a potato scaccia with onion and a fresh cheese, two Messina beers, all for the modest sum of €20.20. Courteous staff, we waited a bit for the aubergine arancino because they were frying it, but I assure you that this wait was not in vain!

The pistachio arancini we had here was the best in our 3 days short trip to Eastern Sicily. We had a small communication issue since none of the staff seemed to understand English. We came for an aperitivo, wanting to pair an aperol spritz with a snack. They had two preset aperitivo options, we asked for further details about what each of them included, they asked us to wait a little bit and then brought us to the table some potato chips, peanuts and olives. This is not what we would have chosen but we realized they would not understand so we left it that way and enjoyed our aperols and arancino. We noticed they had some pizza varieties, from what we saw the menu was not too varied but it is better to serve fewer dishes of great quality.
