If you are in Ortigia Siracusa visiting Casaificio Borderi is a must!! Their panini are out of this world and even the platers for lunch... You won't be disappointed!

I can't comprehend anyone writing a bad review for this wonderful place and this special man who seems to live to make others happy. He goes out of his way to greet, take pictures with, sing, and generally make people happy. The line was not...bad when we were there but still take a while for him to make your sandwich in front of you because he makes each person feel special PLUS he is making sandwiches for folks who order inside and at tables. All the staff is great - and they will let you know that if you don't want to wait in line you can go inside and order - or you can go to a table and order from there. You can watch him make a couple of sandwiches, take pics and then go sit if you want. We waited on line cause, well, it was fun!! Oh and the sandwiches are DELICIOUSMore

We had a great sandwich and a fun time. Important: we went here around 9:30 for breakfast and did not wait in a line. The food is good but I don’t think it is worth waiting in a line. After all, you are in Sicily,...there is a lot of great food around. Also, the sandwich is very large. My wife and I shared a sandwich and it was big enough for two.More

The food here is incredible, and the staff is even better. Andrea makes everyone feel like family while they wait in line. It is impossible to leave hungry and without a smile on your face. The wait in line is worth it - I promise...you!More

We loved this place! For many reasons: first and foremost, the sandwich is for real! So fresh with greens, flavorful with veggies and cheese, and savory with italian meats he goes in the back to thinly slice! Secondly, the baked ricotta they sample is something...out this world. They prepare it in a sealed container with garlic cloves, tomato, seasoning, a few espresso beans, etc. Do yourself a favor: buy it. Cut it up in cubes, and eat it with the fresh tomatoes you just bought in the market right there. Sicilian heaven!More

This was by far the best sandwich in Sicily! The flavors of Italy so elegantly layered one by one! AND YOU CAN TASTE EVERY DETAIL!! The food is great but let’s talk about how kind and personable the owner was! I walked in and felt...like I was family and I don’t even speak Italian! I cannot wait to return!!More

This was an amazing food experience in the Ortigia market - perfect finish for our stay in town. We wanted to pick up some cheese and salami to take home, and instead received a full blown tasting (the guys made a food platter for us...with samples that were absolutely delicious), explanation of each product and recommendations. You can tell that the team love what they are doing and take special pride in the produce. Exceptionally welcoming, generous, with lots of patience, laughing and even singing at the end. Prices are the best, and the quality is even beyond that. Definitely top recommended! And thank you, guys, you made our stay in Ortigia even more memorable ❤️More

Even in October the queue took 40 minutes. Excellent sandwiches but it took very long time, since he is more talking than working. But it's part of the show.

Admitted, I came a little over 15, and apparently they close at 16. I asked for a sandwich, but they appeared to be out of bread. So I accepted to have a "mixed platter" without bread. When I hadn't received any food after 20 minutes...I prepared to leave the place. And suddenly my food was ready. A mix of cold cuts and cheeses. Absolutely NOTHING that justifies 20 minutes wait. The cold cuts were "standard", and I wasn't interested in the cheeses at the time. 15 € and almost an hour - next time I would rather choose McD.More

This place is a must go when in Syracuse. Mr Andrea, Mr Antonio and their staff are really friendly and both the service and the vibe we're super on point. The sandwiches were absolutely great, huge and really tasty. While waiting they will also offer...you some samples of some of their cheeses (their ricotta is great!) Prices are also very honest. Definitely recommended!More

It is not a restaurant, more like a deli. For our first time there, they prepared a sample platter of their meats and cheeses with some bread which we sat and ate like a meal. It was filling! On my second visit i ordered the... More
