Popped in just to have a look. I was impressed by the range of books and cute little gifts you can buy. The owner of the shop actually makes them herself. I decided to stay and loved the choice of hot drinks and snacks I...tried. The choice of music played in the background gives the place a laidback atmosphere and the staff's relaxed and easy-going personality adds to the cosiness of the place. Would highly recommend.More

Wonderful atmosphere. Had a great hot chocolate. Felt able to relax, chat and play some cards. Unique and cute souvenirs on offer. Owner was friendly and welcoming. Higly recommended!

We went on a Saturday evening and there were people there drinking coffee, talking and browsing. It's a place you can pop in to to buy a book or browse some tourist books or Italian novels. Likewise, it's the perfect place to buy handmade Sicilian...souvenirs or items (made by the owner). The owner was working there at the time and was a really lovely person to chat to - she has great English and offers Italian lessons and travel recommendations. There's also a nice soundtrack with alternative tunes played in the background. We had Pistachio Hot Chocolate and for those who don't know it's a little different to Hot Choc in the UK! In Italy it's thick and delicious and is best eaten with a spoon. A cup full of melted chocolate - YUM. Highly recommended and would definitely return.More

We popped in to avoid unexpected rainfall. We had our own books with us and settled into easy chairs in the warm bookshop. We were able to enjoy a decent glass of red before stepping back out on to the narrow street, close to Fountain...of Diana. We would certainly return.More

The bookstore is very close to the heart of Ortigia, the Fountain of Diana. It is on a classic narrow street. It is a very pleasant place. I also took two italian lessons with Paola. Very knowledgeable, patient, and a great sense of humor. She...can really help you get going with Italian! Highly recommended!More

We had planned to spend a good part of our first evening here after reading outstanding reviews. We were looking forward to relaxing here after our flight, getting a few tips about where to eat or visit ;and most of all, booking an Italian conversation...class with Paola. However the receptionist at our hotel when asked for directions to Biblios became distinctly uncomfortable; and, curiously and wrongly gave us to understand that Biblios was no longer operating???(Politics ? I later speculated?) We only found Biblios by chance on our second and final evening when it was near closing time; and we were tired and on our way back to our hotel. So no chance of learning a little Italian; instead a brief chat with a bemused Paola the owner and a cuppa.Bought some nice hand painted post cards...A shame! So my rating has to be based on its excellent hard earned reputation rather than our understandably brief encounter.More

Peaceful oasis in the heart of Ortigia. More books than cafe, although would ahve enjoyed a greater selection of books!

Biblios is one of my favorite spot in ortigia. it is a nice, cozy welcoming place where is possible to read, buy interesting books, access the internet, have tea ( out of many possible choices ) or a glass of nice Sicilian wine... but most...of all you feel welcomed by the kindness and sweetness of Paola, the owner. you want to get a break and have some time for yourself?... go to Biblios!More
