Our first meal in Ortigia turned out to be a great experience. Friendly, genteel owner welcomes you in, explains the menu, returns to make sure all is well. Food was great starting with the oil brought with the bread. Wine from the area, very reasonably priced. Delightful staff. I started with the sarde fritte, which I was not sure about... More

One of those places I adore: the owner works there himself, serves you, picks the fresh ingredients himself, gives you friendly and valuable advice on what to eat and drink, and all with a passion and love that you can feel every minute. We had the sarde beccafico, typical Sicilian dish, which was great, the risotto with squid (delicious), pasta... More

Can you fall in love with a restaurant? I think I did. How quaint the tables and plants along the walls outside and as you walk in you're greeted personally by the owner. It's obvious this is a family run restaurant and you feel as if you've been welcomed into their home. The food is incredible. They read out the... More

I visit Siracusa for business on a regular basis and it is always a pleasure to have a great lunch at Dionisio. I like how their menu is short and based on what's fresh from the season. Also the owner is very welcoming. I strongly recommend the Sarde a Beccafico, couscous with spada or the risotto with octopus. For the... More

Owner greeted our family of 4 and painstakingly explained the menu and ingredients, starters were excellent, nhighlighted by sardines and artichoke flan. Pasta dishes very good. Wouldn't recommend the steak but every dish and dessert were very good and prepared with care. We all were glad we visited this restaurant.

We came here around 8 and thought the place was going to be full since the whole town was crowded. Instead, we came to a completely empty restaurant. Later when we left the restaurant, we saw that all other places in the area was crowded and I don't know why. Anyway, the food and service was great. We had a... More

We came here on a recommendation from our guide . It was our anniversary and we arrived early since we did not have reservations .They seated us right away and a few minutes later the owner came by to go over the menu with us. This was totally unexpected and a very pleasant surprise. Everything looked great on the menu... More

Incredibly friendly. Owner explains every dish elaborately and enthusiastically. Little bonus: everybody speaks English. Best pistachio ice-cream ever!

We have been here 2 years ago and it was very pleasant experience. Italian and French tastes are mixed, each course was very original. Owner is a gentleman. Ambiance is nice. Wine choises are good. Prices are normal. We strongly recommend this place.
