We found this place by accident on a previous trip and have been back several times on subsequent visits to Ortigia. How fortunate we were that the place next door was packed with a tour! The ambience was relaxed, refined, with gentle jazz, fine art and books of art photography scattered around. The owner speaks several languages and is obviously... More

Without reservation we walked to this restaurant. Well, in the end we had to search with Google Maps. As a bit expected, fully booked. So do make a reservation! Only one table outside (the only one) free. Perfect. The owner, charming man, talked us through the menu. It all sounded great. We took sardines and flan. And both dishes were... More

This was a great choice for dinner in Ortigia. It is off the beaten path so you must be looking for it to find it...but its definitely worth looking! The tuna tartar was the star of the night, but all of the food was wonderful. The service was very attentive and helpful! Highly recommended for a good traditional Sicilian dinner... More

Off the main street, this charming, character filled restaurant was the best meal we have eaten in Sicily. The owner spoke beautiful English and explained the menu perfectly. The soup and red tuna with marsala were light, complex and delectable. Do not miss it.

Nice to visit a restaurant with some character and charm and cozy feel. When we arrived a man smoking at the entrance asked if we had a reservation which was a bit abrupt. We had and it turned out he was the owner. During our visit, it appeared that dinner was reservations only. The said owner came to our table... More

We were looking for a small, Sicilian restaurant with fresh fish choices...Dioniso did not disappoint. It is a small, family restaurant in Ortygia with incredibly delicious and tuna, squid, sardines and other fresh choices. Meat choices were also very good. Customer service is excellent. Our party of seven all had the feeling we were the only ones there (though the... More

Stumbled upon this romantic restaurant in the side streets of Ortigia! Menu is small, and changed every day depending on the fresh fish caught that day! Excellent service and knowledge of food from all staff! Sardine starter and the biggest red tuna steak I've ever seen were great choices! Wine recommendations according to food choices was a nice touch and... More

Really good food- small menu in ordre to be able to serve fresh ingredients. Nice choice of wine - everything was perfect - you can go there without any hesitation. The really nice part was the friendly greating by the owner who took the time to explain the whole menu to us. The atmosphere is also interesting with a mixture... More
