We were told the four of us couldn't eat inside as it was all booked up, but a later party of 12 - also without a booking - were given the option to do so on what was a very hot day. The food was simple pizzas and a pasta, but a lemon granita was given 'free' at the end... More

We found this place by accident and the staff welcomed us. We shared a pizza and a bottle of wine. Both pizza and wine were very good. The service might be fast but it all about turn over of tables but the staff were more than happy for us to stay and finish our wine. We also received s couple... More

At first reluctant to name the place, our cruise-ship bus tour guide said he eats here, and he walked us over and ate with us. It's a little off the beaten track, so it was mostly empty at lunchtime. We had a great meal, at very reasonable prices. The food was freshly prepared and very good budget eating.

Staff very rude and very unprofessional .. Food sadly very poor. We did not see the 20% service charge on the menu, plus the cover charge which added to our bill. This was the only restaurant in Italy we have paid for service charge. If the staff and ambience had been good we would not have had a problem... My... More

20% service charge PLUS 1.50 each for Coperto (couvert) - this is not advertised on the menu board outside! Bad service - they commented in Italian that we were misers for wanting to share the lunch between two, not thinking we could understand the language. They brought the bill without us asking, trying to get rid of us and sit... More

If you are into getting bullied and charged inappropriately by a restaurant on your holiday, then this is the place for you. The Pizza was average and the pasta was horrid. After they had mistaken my order I decided not to get a replacement. The servers refused to take this off of my bill even though I didn't touch my... More

We sat down, enticed by the low prices advertised (last night and not many euros left) we had difficulty ordering 2 beers (Italian, English, menu pointing - still struggled somehow?!) and one large beer arrived which was fine to share. We ordered pizza and breadsticks & bread arrived. Aware that this is often part of the cover charge (20% here... More

Hidden down one of the many tiny side streets in the centre of Ortigia - we found this restaurant courtesy of a blogger - who it turned out had excellent taste. More of a local than a tourist place - we enjoyed spying on our fellow diners almost as much as we enjoyed the food. The menu is extensive -... More

My Italian Rough Guide said the pizza here was good; it was just average. The eggplant was tasteless, and the hard boiled egg, way overcooked and rubbery. Worst thing: before I order, I ask if they take cards, and the waiter assures me they do. When I go to pay, a different waiter says, "The machine is broken." Knowing this... More

We came across this place on our day out and our friend fancied some pizza. The service was average to UK standard but more Italian (loud staff) and not very attentive. Pizza where nice, not Neapolitan style but slightly thicker but lots of topping. Annoying couldn't buy a small beer but if you want some quick food this is worth... More
