Difficult to find; it’s on a side street, then up some stairs (thinking this can’t be it) then you enter a room in an old (being renovated) palace and you’re there. With classical music and an amazing view of the Cathedral it’s a timeless setting....Fortunately the food is good enough to match although given the setting you could be forgiven for considering it an irrevelance.More

This is not an easy place to get into. Situated in an old building directly opposite the cathedral, when you look up you see 2 or 3 tables on a balcony, people smuggly sitting drinking super chilled drinks. Then the fun starts trying to get...in. We had been last year and even though we thought we had it sussed, we missed the door. Walk down the small side street to the left of the terrace, enter through the museum door, you ring the bell to gain entry, we were warmly welcomed and escorted through stunning rooms with beautiful crockery on display to be seated on the terrace. The views are breathtaking. We enjoyed pasta with sardines, which was unbelievably tasty and the bruschetta with the freshest tomatoes and delicious olive oil. We shared a bottle of super cold Grillo which seemed very decadent on a Friday afternoon. If you don’t do anything else in Palermo, visit here and the Palazzo Conte Federico. Both are exceptional and memorable for all the right reasons..More

Magnificent! Everything! The splendid view on the Cathedral, the historic location, the aristocratic atmosphere, the gourmet lunch. The owner of this beautiful Palace warmly welcomed us and gave us a tour of his unique collections. He really went the extra mile, making us feel very...pampered! The pictures on the website perfectly reproduce the exquisiteness of the place and the breathtaking view. The whole experience is simply overwhelming 😊 Not to be missed!More

We would never normally stop for lunch at such a touristy place, but this was amazing. It’s right opposite the cathedral with just the most exceptional view, in the shade so it’s completely comfortable. Not the easiest place to get into however if you walk...down the small side street to the left of the terrace you will see a sign for the museum. The sign does say to ring for the bistro however the door was open when we arrived. Walk up to the museum of the same name and then we were directed to the bistro. You walk through the most fabulous rooms with cabinets displaying the most gorgeous crockery. This really is something out of the film Hannibal, just stunning. We enjoyed a bottle of local Sicilian wine to wash down fabulous busiata alla norma and vegetable couscous, all of which were absolutely superb. One of the best views that we have enjoyed in a time in Sicily and would highly recommend a visit. There are only a few tables on the terrace so be sure to get here early. We only waited for 10 minutes to be seated outside. However once seated you won’t want to leave.More

Wonderful museum interior, delicious dishes, also regional, high quality food. Very nice service, and affordable price. What more could you want? Maybe great unique Sicilian beers which is also there ! :) We will be back there for sure!

Several times we've got an espresso or a quick appetizer looking the marvellous Palermo's Cathedral from the palace balcony, a great sensation! Yesterday we discovered that this magic is possible on lunch too. So we tasted typical Sicilian dishes, perfectly prepared, enjoying our break surrounded...by the art of a wonderful ancient palace. The final surprise: we paid suchlike a Mcmenu. A great welcome to Asmundo Bistro!More
