Great place to eat in the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff were great and the food was ace. Considering we were in the touristy area, the prices were reasonable.
The portions were good. Nice flavourful food made with almost a home cooked style. On the plus side, whilst waiting for our food, the menus sheets doubled as games to play, which helped pass the time.
For €49, we got a massive sharing starter, a gnocchi dish, a pistachio pasta dish, couple cokes and couple of glasses of wine. Not bad value.
I would definitely come back …

The food was very nice but the service poor and unfriendly, when the mixed stater came the waitress literally threw it on the table without saying a word. Equally, I asked for ice with my water and it didn’t come and everything felt like it was too much to ask for!
A shame because the food was nice with large portions.
Won’t be recommending though due to the service.

This was our first meal in Sicily and positively set the tone for all the delicious Sicilian meals awaiting us during our visit. The pasta with pistachios and the swordfish rolls tasted divine after our long flight. We thought we were going to get a decent supper but it was much more than that. Worth a visit.

We came here after discovering the street trying to find a different restaurant. Really delicious dinner and great service. We had the anti pasti meat platter with pizza dough - delicious starter! And then both opted for spaghetti with prosciutto, one in a cream sauce one in tomato - really nice touch served in the metal dishes. Beautiful food and nice atmosphere.

A sign beside the door read “All You Need is Love and Good Food,” Don’t look for either at Curtigghu! The wait staff was indifferent at best. Our server was close to rude. In many restaurants you can taste the love that the staff puts into the food. Not here. From the wine that was just”off” to the pizza with cold toppings just slapped on top. It seems like the staff at Curtigghu simply doesn’t care. If you’re looking for an authentic Sicilian meal made and served with love, look elsewhere.

Today I went with my friends to eat at the renowned "curtigghiu" restaurant, among various videos on tiktok and IG it had intrigued us, a completely wrong choice. The first courses arrived cold, but what was even worse was that as we were outside at the outside tables we asked the waiter if he could turn up the heat on the stove as many of the kids in the group had started to feel cold, the first waiter CLEARLY LIED to us saying he was at maximum, we tried again with another waiter asking if something could be done, he answered us in sincerity that the owner had given instructions to leave the stove at minimum so as not to blow up the electrical panel. Dispassionate advice, increased the voltage of the current and does not pretend around customers, how embarrassing, my goodness

I am a regular customer of the place as I think the dishes are really good, especially the pastas. I have always felt very comfortable with both the food and the service. yesterday, however, there were problems when the dishes arrived at the table: in the meantime only 3 out of 4 arrived, one of which was wrong and subsequently, after waiting a long time (while the dishes were getting cold), I asked at what point it was the other dish that was missing and it also arrived wrong. without a doubt the dishes were delicious as always but, after having noticed the errors which are absolutely legitimate because it is human to err, it would have been nice if they had given us an apology first and then perhaps a touch on the price.

The food was fine. The service was not!
Just went to eat here and we had to wait 30 minutes for our crème brule, turned out the waiter didn’t even order it. When we asked him about our food, he pretended he didn’t know about it.

Location located in the street par excellence of Catania nightlife, small but with attention to detail.
Extensive menu with proposals and reinterpretations of great classics that surprise and impress.
The fresh pastas served in the pots are exceptional, of quality and well executed. Excellent starters and desserts. A pleasant surprise and discovery! I will definitely return and recommend it!

Nice place but I don't think I'll be back.
My friends and I order two starters, one too salty.
I order a pistachio paste and while chewing I find a pistachio shell and think "whatever happens". Too bad that then taking another fork I find myself in my mouth a nice big stick when my little finger. Complaining to the waiters I hear them say "it's pistachio wood", other than wood that was the branch. I could really hurt my teeth and gums or it could go sideways as big as it was!
Other than a piece of pistachio... I really don't think I'm going back!

Non era mai capitato ado oggi un evento simile. Evidentemente in questo caso siamo stati poco attenti. Ci dispiace davvero tanto. I book online as suggested by their instagram page. I don't receive any confirmation or response, I call and a lady replies that if I haven't received a response I'm obviously full and that if I want I can show up at the venue and get in line like the others as they take reservations at least a week in advance. half an hour passes and by chance I receive confirmation of the booking, I call to say that there are no longer six of us but 4 to which I am told "better".
in any case the place is a little confusing, the service is mediocre and the food is equally mediocre. overpriced, I won't be back

We spent 8 days in Rome, Catania ja Syracusa and my favorite meal of the trip was from this restaurant - Polpette di melenzane fritte con salsa, ricotta salata e basilico, or eggplant "meatballs" was just fantastic. I also ordered a pizza and was only barely able to eat everything. Portions are way bigger than in Rome.

We have been and returned several times to the Portal Curtigghiu. The place is large, nicely decorated, cozy both inside and outside. The staff is knowledgeable, exquisite and attentive.
