Food is great, quality is good and portions are big. We had 3 kind of pasta (tonno, alla catanese, spada) and they all were excellent. We had also octopus salad and telline wich exceeded our expectations. Plus a steak, water, wine, cannolo siciliano, dolce alle...fragole all for 70 euros! AmazingMore

I went for pasta alla norma and also 3 oysters. I knew that pasta alla norma is a very simple dish. The inside is a bit cramp, and if you sit outside be aware that you will have some people who will stand outside and...smoke. The food is delicious and the oysters are fresh and value for money. Definitely recommend this place. The staff are nice, busy but attentive.More

I’ve been to Italy a couple of times now and one of the reasons I always come back is the food. This place in Catania blew my mind. I’ve never had anything as delicious as their pasta - swordfish, eggplant, celery linguine. The cherry on...top was their absolutely amazing tiramisu! Would recommend to anyone who loves authentic Sicilian food for an unbelievably great price. Grazie mille!More

The prices are simply awesome and the quality of all the food and drinks was gorgeous! We are going to eat there again when...travelling to Catania, 100% recommendaction!More

The fish appetizers of sea snails, mussels, carpaccio were all excellent. I admit to making a mistake ordering the pasta alla norma, the place is clearly better at the fish dishes as the rest of the table were very happy. My pasta was just pasta...pomodoro with three sliced aubergines and a scrape of ricotta salata, very underwhelming but it was not expensive so I can't feel ripped off really. Service was OK without being exactly friendly, I think it being in the Rough Guide and its location gives it a regular stream of business it doesn't need to try too hard.More

Very disappointing. We had seen good reviews, the waiters were nice. However, we waited more than an hour for our food. A group of 4 people sitting next to us were served well before us even though we weee only 2, and our order was...taken before theirs. When we signaled to the waitress that our food had not yet arrived, she came back to us 10 minutes later saying that the dish was taking a long time to cook (for shrimp pasta...), when it was clearly an oversight... Afterwards, when our dishes finally arrived, no apologies were said. The dishes were correct for the price. In short, we would have preferred the waiters to tell us that they had forgotten our order and to slip us a word of apology or commercial gesture, which was not the case.More

It is really nice, small restaurant in a quiet street, with great food. We have been there 2 times for a lunch, service was helpful and fast, As well seafood as meat was delicious and for me the best was swordfish.

We went here 3 times in a week time and had a great dinner each time. It is traditional Sicilian food made from fresh ingredients. Nothing else and exactly what were looking for. Cozy and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended! Try spicy pepper mussels!

This was one if the best dinner experiences during our stay on Sicily. Everything was very tasty and extremely price worthy. We had seafood, pasta and horse meat together with a bottle of the local red wine. Very recommended!!!

The highlights first and the details at the bottom of the review: cons: 1) the place is tiny and you have to eat next to a stranger, I am not comfortable with that 2) service is rude and slow and they act like they are...doing you a favor 3) spaghetti were overcooked and they were drowning in oil pros: 1) it is rather cheap, but you get what you paid for, so probably I shouldn't be complaining too much about the food and the service the details: I went there for the second time. The first time I wasn't very happy but since this place gets so nice reviews I decided to give it another try. The place was crowded and so noisy I could barely hear my friend talking. We asked details about how a dish was prepared and it was like we had insulted the cook so we decided to keep quiet and order what we thought could be good. Portions were tiny and my spaghetti with clams were in so much oil that I was not sure it was pasta or noodles soup..:) When it came the time to ask for the bill we had to wait for ages and after we asked it for the second time we got such a bad look that we decided to wait quietly. If I want to be treated rudely when I am eating I can eat at home with my partner...thank you so much! For the records, this is the second time I write a review. The first time the owner had it canceled because I am Italian and apparently and Italian that writes reviews in English must be fake. Of course, I doubt she would have said that if the review was complimentary. I have been a TA member since 2010 as it can be checked on my account but if this review is canceled again upon request of the owner of the restaurant I am canceling my account and moving to a more reliable platform.More

If you want to taste seafood this is the place. It’s great and fresh and with great variety. But if you want to taste pasta or dolce- it’s also the place to go. Staff are friendly and speak English if needed. Lovely seating outside that...lets you experience the Italian way of enjoying food.More

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch and liked the look of this place and bagged the last table outside. We had a wonderful seafood penne, spaghetti ala Vongole and veal steak - all delicious - along with a carafe of white wine. Service...was prompt and pleasant. If we had been staying longer in Catania, we would have returned.More

Whilst I was not looking for gluten free food, the menu did not rely on breads and pasta as there were many fresh veg and fish sides. Many eateries we saw seemed to be aware of gluten free, so I would think they have... More
