We went to this place because it was recommended by our accomodation owner. Unfortunately they had none of the seven or eight craft beers they had on their drinks menu. The food was OK, but we didn’t feel particularly welcome, especially when we waited for our coffee order for 20 minutes and it never arrived.

We stopped in this place attracted by the central but quiet location of Catania: tables surrounded by lights on a staircase. My vegetarian girlfriend had the vegetable based meal and I got the octopus. The portions are generous, the taste of each food is authentic. We were surprised by the particularly tasty vegetables. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The bill was particularly low in terms of quantity and quality. I would go back in the winter to enjoy the interior furnished with care and personality.

I come often, it could use a renovation but it's cozy. You can. Chatting like you're your own home. The menu has few dishes, all typical and “ancient”. I generally ate, but this complete dish was messy, parmesan and caponata too “greasy”.

I came tempted by vegan and bio options. Food is very mediocre. The plate is full of highly processed ready to buy vegan meat-like and cheese-like bites. They could get away with it for breakfast maybe.
They clearly don't understand how to COOK a vegan meal. I wonder if they serve fried ready processed foods from a supermarket in other meals.
We waited for it for a very long time and then sat forever looking at empty plates.
No service, no question, no menu in English.
We paid quite a lot anyway.
On top of the food being a dissapointment, multiple people from the service smoke inside the dinning area and inside the kitchen. Cigarette smoke and smell is everywhere.
The last "star" is this place being full of communism supporting paintings and pictures...

I went to Nievski 2 - a pretty basic outdoor seating situation - for a beer.
I ordered a bottle of Semidorato - bog-standard beer that costs €1 in the shops.
Nievski (who apparently have 'socialist' leanings') charged me €5.00 for the same.
Absolute RIP-OFF merchants!

If you are going out in Catania in the evening do not miss this bar. Very lively atmosphere, good cocktails, friendly staff. We will come back again for sure.

Central location. We had dinner on the terrace, which is in a pedestrian street, next to large stairs. Very nice. Food was simple but good (without being remarkable). dessert (tiramisu) was not good (far too heavy). Service was attentive and friendly. I would give 3 and 1/2 stars if that was possible.

This place is located on the steps, so would not be obvious to find, but well worth seeking out. We had their vegetarian tasting plate which was varied and delicious. Very affordable. Was very happy to find it! Recommended.

Close to our hotel and a great place to start the evening with a drink.~Sitting on the chairs and tables set out on the steps just watching the world go by. Unsure of the menus as didn't seem much on there and think you probably have to ask for specific daily specials but a great wine list.

Nice, went for dinner and sat opposite a mural of great communists and socialists, we managed to get up to 15 matches. interesting local wine list and knowlegeable staff.
Some of the diners were obviously old trots in a place they felt happy in. Chilled and worth a visit

Great location, nice interior and very nice tables on the stairs outside. Food was rather avarage but cocktails amazing quality for 5€. Great place for pre-drinks. Very friendly staff!
