Pasta was amazingly delicious, best in the city but the croquettes were dry and came super late. Staff is nice but rather slow for our standards (the restaurant was empty when we came). Location is nice and prices are fair. We wanted to share our food and the waitress split it on two plates without us telling her, that was super nice! Must check out!

Delayed service but good food

We took two dishes of polpette, one with fish and one with meat. The fish one was ok, a bit dry but ok. The meat one was very juicy but salty. Very delayed service, they have maybe forgotten our order. It took maybe one hour at least between the first and second course…. Overall it is nice place and good food.

A guide from an awesome food and wine tour recommended we went down this street to try different bars and food rather than the main strip. Great idea if you follow the crowds. This place was not overly busy but had Italians in it so we thought it must be good enough for locals it will be good enough for us. We should have listened to our gut and gone to the busier places…they are busy for a reason. Arrived and met by a lovely waiter who helped us with our broken Italian. He was friendly and recommended a wine. Great start we thought. Sadly down hill service wise from that point. His colleague was rude and gave us the impression that she could not be bothered to give us her time. We asked for the wine list (the place has 25wines plus on display and why we went in!!) She simply said “no” to our request. We thought it was on a QR code like the menu and she didn’t understand so we just accepted it. We later found the wine list inside when we went to pay. Couldn’t be bothered and made assumptions that we would not know anything?? Maybe not but such a shame. We ordered meatballs, after all the place is called meatballs isn’t it?!? Anyway, they were tasty but for what we got they were expensive. The fish in particular 20euro for one dish! Happy to pay normally but this felt like a rip off given what you could get on this street. Food nice enough and wine was ok but I would truly pass it by until they ramp up their service. If you are a local it did look like you get a different experience so it may just be a language thing…sadly we will never know as we won’t be going back.

Disappointing. This restaurant is on a very hip street with lots of great places to eat out al fresco, first appearance looked good and we sat outside. The male waiter was very friendly but than we had a female waitress and she could not be bothered with us at all, said no to everything including seeing a wine list as she said they did not have one, ridiculous because we could see them inside on the counter, very lazy customer service. We had meat balls and fish balls, told no again to what we wanted except the one that was twice the price on the menu. When the food came it was tasty but felt underwhelmed, ripped off and the female staff had a chip on her shoulder. Would not go back again.

Today I went to this place and it was a terrible experience! The place, as can be seen from the name "polpetteria", is a simple "street" style place with prices of a starred restaurant (a plate of pasta costs 25 euros!) and poor service to say the least! To aggravate the already embarrassing and annoying situation, the terrible attitude of the owner, arrogant and terribly rude, was added! Of course we will never return to this place again and I strongly advise against it! Instead, I recommend that the owner take a bath in humility and a full immersion course in customer care for himself and his very limited staff.

Looking at the menu online we didn't understand how it worked but we still went to try with high expectations. We are welcomed by a courteous staff, and, once viewed the menu, we ask for info I still do not understand how it works. I'm not sure why was I so special comparing to other visitors: my behaviour and look was normal. The only difference was that I'm a tourist. A place like many others, nothing special, in fact there is something special... the price of some courses for example: the pasta, you can't charge €25 for a very simple plate of pasta (cacio e pepe)!!! Just because it is the "SPECIAL of the day" dish or so I understand... come on but let's not exaggerate!!! Another thing, a portion of chips €6.50 but come on…. But let's keep our feet on the ground... I don't have a photo of the receipt but I paid a whopping €85 for a carbonara, cacio e pepe, a portion of chips, a cutlet, a zero coke, a glass of wine, a bottle of water, a focaccia and a coffee….
