We just had dinner at Trattoria Da Gino and found the experience quite disappointing. The food, in all fairness, was very tasty, although the portions were far from generous: the €13 prawn dish had exactly four prawns and nothing else and the €13 calamari dish is equivalent to a small Spanish racion that would cost no more than €7 in... Had a pretty nice lunch here with good (if not a tiny bit impatient) service. We enjoyed melon and prosciutto, ravioli, scallopini and beef. The house wine and coffee where good and reasonably priced. My one complaint was the Salade Verte for which they charged me 4 Euro and only consisted of a small side plate of shredded head lettuce.... More

Da Gino is a decent restaurant at the centre of Oristano and serves decent food. Safe choice, good food and wines.

This was the last place I ate after two and half months eating fantastically well in most of Italy. Unfortunately, it was just not very good. The bread was old, the oil below par, the ravioli average at best, the chicory leaves watery and flavourless. I left feeling like I should have trusted my instincts which were not to enter... More

Our waiter was patient and friendly... A plus since we have no Italian. Pasta was served with artichoke and batarga. The pasta was clearly home-made. Picatta limone was mild and tender. The dishes were tasty, if uninspired. Prices are fair.

We came back for our second evening as we enjoyed it so much the first time! We got on very well with the owner and really enjoyed his sense of humour - he was quite a joker! The food was lovely as was the house wine.

This is a very popular little trattoria, both with the locals and tourists. We hadn't booked so got there well before 8 pm. We found fellow lodgers from our B&B amongst those anticipating the opening of the door. As a first course I chose bottarga, which was served thinly sliced on a bed of tender, lightly dressed fennel. There was... More

We enjoyed the homemade pasta very much, with mussels and with salmon. Very well done, familiar atmosphere.

My partner and I ate here two times. Lunch and diner. Both times the service was attentive, patient and polite. We speak a little Italian but always seem to communicate.. We had pasta dishes, fish and salads. The Italians eat contorni ( salads/vegetables) after the main courses so if you order an insalada misa (mixed) it will come last. On... More

Terrible service, no help with menu, treated as third class clients, food not great. Other diners who were non Italian (but Italian speakers) were treated with the same poor, indeed rude, service. We do not think Oristano likes tourists.
