A lovely, small place - albeit slightly claustrophobic - at least the room in which we were seated. Nonetheless, the staff was very pleasant and the gnocchi and pizza with sardinian sausage which we were served were of generous portions for a low price. Although very tasty, we weren't able to finish our plates!

Reading many reviews from Tripadvisor I was curios to try out this restaurant. It's located near the wall of Alghero center. You do need to book a table in advanced because it's so popular. You will find well cooked and genuine sardinian dishes. I tryed the smoked salmon as starter and the the fabuluos swordfish al forno. Served with an... More

Dining out is never just about the food, it's the wholesome experience. We can't judge the food - we never got the chance to taste it - but the owner needs to learn a lesson or two in hospitality. We came by without a reservation and were told to come back in 30 minutes. We went for a drink at... More

Came here as a bit of a random punt as the more well known places along the bastions had a queue of an hour of more by the time we showed up in the evening, so headed down the side streets and came across Al Vecchio Mulino, which serendipitously had a free table for us. And we couldn't really have... More

Adult and 7 year old: Spaghetti all'arrabiata - spicy and very tasteful a - best arrabiata we have tried. Good size on the portions also. Very friendly, very comfortable little restaurant in the old town.Extensive menu from pizzas, pastas, fish & steaks.Great value for money & the best in Alghero. You will need to book though as it is that popular with queues forming most nights.

I was treated like crap from the moment I walked in. No respect what so ever, the host let every Italian person ahead of me (May because I had kids). Horrible place will never go back.

We used to visit this restaurant ten years ago and on returning to Alghero it is still the best for value and quality in the old town. The pizza and pasta are delicious, the staff are efficient and the atmosphere is wonderful. You won't get a better meal or service in town.
