This restaurant was recommended by a friend of mine, it is a little bit off the beaten track, very good food, excellent local beer, and couldn't go beyond the antipasti and the primi piatti. Recommended!

Had a few hours to kill and we took T.A. recommendations on where to go. This restaurant was ranked #1. Decor is extremely dated and lacks the charm of a few other local spots. Food is of fair quality. The problem is two fold: 1) crowd was entirely foreign and clearly taking the same unwarranted TA rating - there wasn't... More

I visited here with some colleagues for dinner. We had the mixed starters to share which was lovely - i really enjoy this in this region lots of little dishes to taste and try, each one as tasty as the last. For my main I had a catch of the day which was a local white fish simply cooked to... More

A cold rainy rain with our cruise ship in Brindisi - we headed to Trattoria Pantagruele, and the town suddenly seemed a much more cheerful place. Tucked away in a little corner just off via G. Garibaldi, and not far from the waterfront, Pantagruele offers an interesting menu, delicious authentic Italian food, and friendly efficient service. The antipasti could have... More

Great selection of dishes and wine; great quality. You wint be disappointed. The waiters can speak English and will take the tune to explain the dishes.

Probably the best meal we had in Puglia, though it was just a quick lunch. Go for the appetizer – they have just one at lunchtime – it is a selection of various small plates, including seafood, beans puree, tarts, etc. Orchiette with octopus ragout was the best pasta we had in Puglia. The staff is extremely efficient and friendly.... More

Completely overrated restaurant. Both dishes were nothing special at all and the wine was totally flat. Don't expect something great!

Good little restaurant with exceptionally good anti pasta della cassa. We sat outside behind a small laurel hedge and the traffic noise and fumes rather spoiled the evening. We didn't see what accommodation they might have had inside. Good food, shame about the location.

Recommended by a friend who lives nearby, we were not disappointed. Simple but charming terrace outside in the backstreets of old Brindisi. Both the menu and food were unpretentious, simple and delicious. We had a selection of antipasti typical of the region followed by the fish of the day. Great authentic food for a reasonable price.

The receptionist at our hotel recommended Pantagruele and booked us a table. It was so good we went back again the next night. Service was excellent, food delicious, well presented and cooked to perfection. My husband even went into the kitchen by invitation to choose his fish! We asked the waiter to recommend a wine, and he did so, choosing... More
