The food was really nice especially the pasta with squid ink. We asked if it will take much time to serve because we were in hurry and the response from the waiter was " if you are hurry take a sandwich" (he meant from a...fast food restaurant). If you ever go there ask for a table outside in the street.More

The best seafood I tried in my life! Everything was great, fresh and delicious. Nicola, the waiter, was doing such a great job, he knew exactly what we wanted and also he talked with us a lot. I really enjoy the time there. For me...it’s one of the best restaurants in BariMore

I visited La Tana del Polpo with my friends some time ago by chance during our stay in Bari. We ordered pasta with shrimps and Chef’s special- spaghetti with Dorada fish and mixed seafood. Both dishes were incredible- probably the best pasta I’ve ever eaten...in my entire life. The ingredients were fresh and local, so every mouthful was a delight. The service is also worth mentioning- Nicola, the waiter was really friendly and funny. His dish recommendations were great choices. The only downside is a long wait for the table, because the place is always full of people, although it was totally worth it. Truly Italian experience!More

We ended up in this tiny fish place because suggested by a local. We had a reservation but we needed to wait a little bit. Definitely worth the waiting. Menu is simple and not thst extensive but the food is excellent. we got Pulpo salad...and saute' di cozze. As main, orecchiette with tuna and capers and finally "frittura mista". Food was all great but a bit salty. The waiter and service too was very welcoming and accomodating. Overall a great experience.More

Please book ahead of time. A delightful night out in Bari. Every mouthful was delicious. Simon, our waiter, was fluent in English, and explained the menu rally well. Highly recommended. 👌🏻

For a long weekend in Bari we (family, party of 4) received a recommendation from a local to try the restaurant of La Tana del Polpo and we were not disappointed… It is located in the old town of Bari in one of those pittoreske...little streets. You will need to reserve though if you want to make sure you can eat there, but it is definitely worth it. If you look at the line of people outside the restaurant, waiting to get in, you do realize that something good will happen to you in there. We were seated inside and our waiter, Simon, made us feel at ease (even though it was hectic for him seating all the guests with the same enthousiasm) explained the daily specials in perfect English and gave us the time to think (without rushing us). We chose for starters: a mix of three Tartars (Salmon, Tuna and a whitefish: very nicely flavored), a mix of two (smoked salmon and tuna: nice, but a lot) and Flan of ricotta and zucchini with shrimps: beautiful dish, very tasty. Absolutely recommendable! The specials had already been explained by Simon and consisted of a pasta dish with various fish, shellfish (clams, mussels), shrimp and calamari or a grilled fish with various vegetables. We have taken 3x pasta dish and 1 grilled fish with vegetables. It was extremely tasty and you could really notice that only fresh products were used to prepare the dishes. The local wine was good and the service made sure we were doing fine. We ordered one of the pasta dishes without mussels (because of a food allergy) and this posed no problem at all and the kitchen made sure no mussel ever came close to my food. All in all we had a wonderful experience, enjoyed some high-quality local food in a nice and vibrant atmosphere. Compliments to the waiting staff who never stopped running but who never gave us the impression that we should be in a hurry. If you have the chance to visit this restaurant, do so.More

The restaurant was very disappointing, the waiter ter very much pushed us what he wanted and then what we got wasn't really what he promised. The service was also very sloppy . when the waitress overturned a glass of wine she did not offer to...replace it and was angry when we asked for. All in all we felt like we where treated like stupid tourists. We do not recommend this restaurant to anybody.More

We visited this place twice and each time we had very good experience. First time we had dorada with potatoes and tomatoes, it was delicious, Plus octopus salad for a starter (advised by Mike , and superb) and glass of very good white wine. Next...time we took take away friture fried sea food in tempura, It was hot, big and delicious. We recommend this place, it has nice atmosphere and food is great!More

Traveling under rain...you want to sit somewhere and definitely to eat something. So..we found this place. It was one of our best experiences in Italian restaurants. Really delicious portions. Nice staff. Absolutely fair prices. Look at photos and see yourself...

We went there without reservation and first it looked like they are out of table, but the owner made sure we can fit in. We ended up sharing a table with an other couple, and it was a great evening. The food is delicious and...fresh, we were craving some seafood and got exactly what we wished for. The restaurant is busy, the waiters are rushing but always paying attention (it's a busy but well oiled machine). Would recommend!More
